I am looking to get new floors in my townhouse and need recommendations…preferably in West Seattle, but any good referrals would be useful. I need the carpet replaced with hardwood in my bedroom and would also like to get stained concrete on the first floor. Any recommendations for either service (hardwood or stained concrete)?

They’re not in WS but, for hardwood floors, I’ve been very pleased with Seattle Floor.

We’ve had good experiences with both Oak Floors of Greenbank for hardwood repairs and refinishing and iFloors for cork installation.

Timely completion, great work, and a reasonable price. Lou installed beautiful Lyptus flooring throughout our home.

I’ve been delighted with the bamboo floors I have. Other than the fuel required to ship them from China they are sustainably sourced. Bamboo is also dimensionally stable and doesn’t expand and contract with temperature changes as much as hardwoods do. You might want to consider radiant heating in the concrete as it is going to be very cold underfoot in the winter otherwise.

for someone who cleans alot of floors. some suggestions:

bamboo while sustainable scratches and dents easily, if you have pets or young kids not so good.

Cork: to soft and dents easily too

natural products: stone, slate, marble, tough to clean depending where you put it. if they have a gloss on them it goes away very quickly you have to maintain them every couple of years.

ceramic or tile work the best

cement: depending on the finish again will need to have finish reapplied every couple of years, and cold i agree with cjboffoli.

snap together wood floors are nice but can dent easy but other wise great to clean and care for.

linoleum depending on the quality is great, yes quality matters in this one.

just tiled 2 areas with 99 per sq ft. ceramic we love it

again this is just from some one who cleans alot of floors

    good luck
