    Aw crap Sarah!

You had to go and remind me of the rule-violating Rants, so now I have to admit to flagging many more posts/threads than I did above.

However, in my own defense, those would fall in the same category as spam, wouldn’t they?

    ;-)

DBP-stop taunting people to pay attention to you. Its pathetic. Your assumptions and opinion of yourself is hillarious. Get off the blog and take a walk. Maybe write in your journal. Just step away from the keyboard for 5 minutes and stop hitting refresh on these forums over and over so you can see who finally paid some attention to you.

Thanks to all above for their input and insight as to steps going forward which might encourage more “lurkers” to engage in the forum and the usual contributors to this community to engage in more substantive discussions.

    1. As stated abovde, I’d like to iterate as “My Bad” in allowing the passions/frustrations I’ve experienced over a 25+ year quest to prevent pit bull deaths of humans and pets by inserting some (stupid) generalized, yet personal group insults directed to owners along with “just the fact M’am” content. This failure of mine negatively changed the tone of the discussion and probably caused many to logically react to reject the facts due to rightfully feeling offended.

    2. I also agree and stand corrected that my use of the word “gang” has negative connotations and agree that “cops” is more precise. Most blogs have cops who are well intentioned, keep discussions civil and if used not just to end unpopular topics, serve a necessary purpose and in WSB’s case might save the sanity of our dear editors so they don’t have to baby-sit touchy discussions.

    3. As Seattle and WS in particular is ultra-liberal in most aspects of living…not just politically, we all lose big-time in that as a communmity we are so used to “singing to the choir” we become increasingly ignorant of potential points of view which may have value or at minimum be instructive as to why differing opinions exist. Good people can come to different conclusions. Actually, in my experience most desire similar outcomes but support wildly differing paths to achieve these outcomes.

I know the most interesting and informative debates in clubs often occur when one must present and fight for a viewpoint totally oppposite from the one you hold.

While I often disagree with Cait, I find her comment above and late in the in the “poopyhead” thread to be extremely hilarious. With the raping of WS by developers, the scary increase in crime and so on, Cait deftly wonders why the poopyhead thread has garnered more comments than almost all discussions. Funny and oddly true.

DBP, I’ll be happy to email you soon.

DBP, it’s getting sad now, man. And Tesla – I do enjoy using the “thumbs down fart noise” response when words escape me. Feel free to use liberally. Or conservatively, whatever. :)

–OK, I’m back from my walk. Now what?

Just step away from the keyboard for 5 minutes and stop hitting refresh on these forums over and over so you can see who finally paid some attention to you.

–Just curious, Barry. What are you doing here?

Not reading any of my posts, I assume . . .

Not hitting the refresh button . . .

    Good.

Ever hear of the Tom Leykis Show?

Yeah, well people call Tom all the time to complain about him. Tell him how much they despise listening to his show.

Hehehehehe.. Leykis is very entertaining for sure. The funny thing is that he has more women listening to what he has to say than his targeted demographic wich is men 18-44 years old…lol Those women are lurking and listening for sure because they know its the truth in what he argues about..But, they won’t admit it of course..lol

Cait.. DBP isn’t sad. He has an argument. If the threads you start are being yanked more often than not, how would you feel? I didn’t see any rules broken by him, but they still got flagged and the owners were under pressure to take them down to appease the mass of flaggers. Who really is flagging? Obviously the pitbull thread was pulled because someone who’s sensative and loves or owns dogs was put off by it. It makes sense.

Unfortunately, they don’t give a Nobel Prize for Telling the Truth, ‘cuz if they did, I’d get one for what I’m going to say now . . .

It’s just a fact that women like drama, and they like to argue. Yup!

No. Of COURSE not ALL women.

But, yeah, as a rule, they do. They like drama, and they like to argue.

And you know what else they like?

They like to have the last

            Word

And that’s a problem. Do you see how that’s a problem?

Because you can’t have the last word AND keep arguing, too.

    Can you?

“Waiting (hoping) for dilbro to come back . . .”

So now you’re into changing my screen name with a mildly offensive slant. You’re really off the rails, dude. I guess by my replying to your childish postings you’ll be able to count me again as one of the people you’ve “pulled in”. And Tom Leykis is your new model? I guess now besides being Mr editor and “voice of the WSB forums” you want to be the shock jock of the WSB.

You’re moving from silly to pathetic at light speed.

PS- I just saw your last post as I posted. you forgot the “no gurlz allowed” tagline.

Oh, brother. This female liberal animal lover has never flagged a post – well, I have flagged a couple of the obvious spam ones. I don’t get offended that easily. And when I see a thread taking a direction I don’t like, I just choose not to read it unless I feel interested enough to comment.

And I have to say I’m not that interested in commenting on most of the stuff I see here lately. Maybe it’s the subject matter or the directions the threads take – I don’t know. Despite what DBP thinks about those of us of the female persuasion, this female liberal animal lover doesn’t much care for drama or name calling or veiled insults. And I don’t care who has the last word. It’s just tiresome to have the same arguments with the same players. You have a position, state it, and you can be passionate about it. But when it gets more personal, I’m no longer interested, no matter who it’s directed towards, and I suspect a lot of other non-posters feel the same.

It’s not a matter of disagreeing – that should lead to interesting and informative discussion. I’m referring to just being disagreeable. My hat is off to Rich HMC for being in the minority most of the time and yet usually making coherent and civil arguments.

So there’s my two cents, if it’s even worth that much.

I am sure that this thread got flagged already and will be yanked soon enough. But flagging by the cops will continue on here. Thank gawd I’m an objective original thinker. At least I’d like to think I’m that. It’s hard to just think like a robot and only be along for the ride. I personally like people who have originality though. Time for some lunch and fresh air.

    deebo, I don’t know what you’re talking about. (#60)

    Mildly offensive? Me?

I take that as an insult, dude. I’ve never been mild in my LIFE.

But really, I can’t take credit for selling all the soap at this opera. It’s a two-man act we got here.

    “The Dobro and DBP Show”

–Yeah. I like how that rolls out.

Anyway, believe it or not, there are people who watch the forums – and specifically, they watch YOUR comments – just to see what I’m gonna follow you up with.

It’s conservatives who come for that spectacle, mostly.

No doubt these conservatives are a tad CONFUSED by the fact that I’m a liberal, too. Just like you.

But in the end that does not detract from their enjoyment.

I mean, when you’ve got two gladiators circling each other in the arena, does anybody really care who they voted for in the last election?

So now I’m your straight man? Abbott to your Costello? Stan to your Ollie? Dean Martin to your Jerry Lewis? OK, that one I’ll go for. Dean and I resemble each other.

male chauvenism abounds, methinks. Name calling? Have we come to that? That’s infantile, and no matter what some posters think about females and their love of drama, those posters are being pretty dramatic themselves. And, then, of course, there are the sniffers that follow them along like good males who think they’re superior to women in all ways.

Belittling people gets one nowhere in one’s arguments – it just makes you look small and petty.

oh, yes..thank gawd you’re objective original thinkers…way to puff out those chests…

You’re getting warmer, bro. But, personally, I like to think of you as Paul Newman to my George Kennedy.

Ya know . . . Cool Hand Luke?

I’m guessing you’re old enough to know what I’m talking about. (The rest of you can watch the movie for yourselves.)

Luke (that’s you) keeps getting knocked down, but he keeps getting up again.

Finally, he’s all woozy and he’s just swingin’ blind. And Dragline (that’s me) knocks him over with a tap.

    (“somebody oughta stop this thing”)

But Luke just WILL NOT stay down. He’s got more heart than brains.

And so, in the end, Dragline, with hardly a scratch on him, just gives up and walks away. He can’t believe anybody would not know enough, when he’s beat, to just stay beat.

So yeah. I’ll always win ya.

But then, I’ll always just be Dragline.

    And you’re Paul Newman, man.

    Mutherfuq’n Paul Newman!

    Cool Hand Luke

That’s what I like about you.

    Yes, Jan. You are RIGHT!!!!

No irony here, I promise: You are right.

    I AM a male.

    I AM a chauvinist.

And worst of all, I’m a pathetic exhibitionist.

It’s all the God’s honest truth.

But at least I’m grown up enough to ADMIT what I am.

Now gimme my fukkin Nobel Prize.

How about you, Jan? You wanna share the Nobel with me?

    I’m cool wid it.

Just ADMIT that you like to argue.

And ADMIT that you luv-luv-LUV to have the Last Word.

(Even though that is a logical impossibility.)

As to Cop banned threads: update:

A good month so far in that since our last pit bull debacle of a discussion only 6 people have died. As usual most deaths were to family memebers of owners sadly:

How many is WS since 1990…I think 7, but I have to check and will correct. These are only dead people, these stats do not include the eye-watering number of people maimed for life since we last discuissed pits or the difficult to get stats on pets killed as Vets and Cities fear being sued if they divulge which breed killed family pets.

    In Memory:

    1.March 2013, Walworth County, WI

    Daxton Borchardt, 1

    Fatal pit bull attack

    2.March 2013, Knox County, IL

    Ryan Maxwell, 7

    Fatal pit bull attack

    3.February 2013, Uvalde County, TX

    Isaiah Aguilar, 2 – TWO

    Fatal pit bull attack

    4.February 2013, Riverside County, CA

    Elsie Grace, 91

Fatal pit bull attack { HeR sweet babies which were the joy of her life ate most of her body.)

    5.January 2013, Montgomery County, TX

    Christian Gormanous, 4 – FOUR

    Fatal pit bull attack

    6.January 2013, Greenwood County, SC

    Betty Todd, 65

    Fatal pit bull attack

Guess it is not worth discussing time tested ways to prevent your children and/or pets falling victim to the countless on-leash pits I see in WS?!? The cops ended it.

Still another reason not to debate this is that so many cities and states are banning dangerous breeds due to more and more really hunumgous jury awards against cities, park departments, landlords and insurance companies, humane departments, etc. who allow such pets in their jurisdiction. It’s the lawyers who will soon effectively eliminate the problem. Those who breed these dogs to fight are pretty deft about keeping these dogs away from public and they will still breed for the rings. But within just 2-3 years, home insurance companies, cities, counties, Federal park agents, even humane socities (a few were sued out of existence) etc. nationwide will ban ownership of these dogs even over citizen outrage to avoid being the “deep pockets” responsible for these judgements. In the earlier thread I suggested ways for communities to prevent or lessen the impact of such bans, but only Hammerhead had input. I have quite a few rental homes and my insurance co will not allow certain breeds. I have had renters offer HUGE bribes as they get more desperate to find homes who can accept thier precious-sweet-responsibly home-raised pets…who cause most of the maulings and killings each year. Experts are desperatley trying to account for why such sweetly home raised pets suddenly “snap’ and kill but have not as yet…so that may be a hope for pit owners.

Another suggstion is that there is a fantastic pitrescue organization in Seattle who work to stop this inevitable ban and they surely should offer informed information and interesting debate to my position. Jan and Cait, would something like this make you less likey to demand such a thread be removed?

I never demanded a pit thread be removed. Why do you keep saying that? I don’t care if you discuss pits or not…just keep it civil, and don’t act like you’re the expert, and the only expert. You want people to listen to your point of view…do the same for others. It goes both ways.

And all of that has nothing to do with this thread..really.
