wundrgrrrlParticipantWondering if anyone has any suggestions for a delicious catered Xmas Dinner. We will pick up and self serve, but are looking for something a step above pre-ordering from one of the local stores. Thanks and Happy Holidays!

miwsParticipantMaybe check out Tuxedos and Tennis Shoes?
This looks like it might be what you’re talking about:
Disclosure: I’ve never purchased their Services, but did partake in their Free Thanksgiving Day Meal about four years ago, which was great. I’ve heard nothing but good about them overall.

singularnameParticipantInteresting, because I’ve thought a lot about wanting to cater holiday dinners since I don’t personally partake in holidays but love to cook and piece together a freelance living: best turkey you’ve ever had, 3-generation family oyster dressing recipe, best mash potatoes you’ve ever had, green rice casserole, homemade cranberry sauce (with a can on the side for the person who has to have the canned variety), crazy good spinach salad, 1970s style appetizers (think bacon-wrapped water chestnuts, and shrimp w/ Pick-a-Peppa, sautéed Brussels with pine nuts, stuffed mushrooms, bourbon pecan pie, peanut butter blossoms, and any kind of cheesecake you want, and of course any request with a practice run on my dime. … I should see about getting a food permit for this. That’s about $250 worth of ingredients for 10 people–would someone pay, say, $400 on top of that? Just curious if it would work …
