SO I am going to take the bus to the Macy;s day parade tomorrow. I have never taken it before ( we are new to the area). It will be me and two little ones. I live right nest to the bridge so I thing the stop at 35th and avalon is the closest?! Any tips as to which bus to take to get to the Macy’s neck of the woods and what to take home?! How often to the buses run? Thanks!!!

Hi! Glad you’re going. We’ll be there to cover the local participants as usual. But I’m a parade fan even in off-hours. Anyway, if nobody else has advice (it’s slow in the forum on holidays and weekends), here’s the Metro trip planner:

Note that buses will be on a “reduced weekday/no UW” schedule on Friday.

Any reroutes because of the parade are listed here:

.. if you are interested in a particular bus route, scroll through there to check to make sure it’s not affected. RapidRide, for example, does not appear to be.

You have a wide choices of places to get off the bus downtown – given the parade route, which is in this story we published the other day:

West Seattle holidays: WSHS, Sealth bands in Friday’s parade downtown

    Have fun!
