GbFPMemberI’ve been in West Seattle now for 10 years and don’t really like the gas station car washes we have in the area. I’ve sent a couple emails to the Brown Bear Corporate offices asking them to consider putting a facility somewhere in the area of the old Huling Bros lot. Perfect spot for one of those. It beats driving half way to Ballard or to Costco to get a top notch wash. So, if you have a second, send an email to them here:
Or Go to the website
http://www.brownbear.com/contact/
Fill out the “contact us” section.
You’ll all be thankful when they final buckle down to all the request and put one in West Seattle! I mean, come on man — there are two in Ballard. BALLARD of all places …
Thank you for reading.

JoBParticipanti confess GpFP
i have never visited the Brown Bear
but i don’t spend the time and attention of my car’s exterior that i should
just ask my mechanic
he washed it yesterday because he was embarrassed for me…
i am pretty sure he didn’t do it by hand though since the Chevron Station on 35th has an automated drive through wash station

GbFPMemberThe Chevron car wash on 35th, and the one on Roxbury are both just OK. The one on 35th leaves a film of wax after it goes through the dry cycle. And the one on Roxbury uses hard rubber brushes. Plus there is a family of pigeons living in there. Hopefully someone with a suit on at the Brown Bear headquarters will read this and get one over here!

2 Much WhineParticipantFrankly, I’m happy to drive an extra 3 miles to Costco to get a great car wash at a great price. I think you might be a small minority in your desire to get Brown Bear in West Seattle. I might be wrong. Good luck – it worked with Trader Joe’s but if there was already a Trader Joe’s as close as Costco I’m not sure it would have garnered as much support as it did.

HalynParticipantI wish we had a touchless car wash. I finally bought a new(ish…it’s ten years old) car, and it has such a nice paint job, I hate to take it to the hard brush wash on Roxbury. The novelty of having a shiny car hasn’t worn off yet, after years of driving POSs. Plus, the pigeons don’t fly away when it starts, which makes me worry for their safety, which makes me feel bad for using that wash.

HalynParticipantIs the Costco wash a touchless? I never remember that there’s a car was there.

DianeParticipantBrown Bear was at Green Fest, and I had long chat with them about PLEASE come to West Seattle; great idea; hope it works

SueParticipantI would love one in West Seattle, preferably with both self-wash and the auto-wash options. I have a billion free car wash coupons from Brown Bear, and find I have to drive to either Ballard or DesMoines to get the free wash. So I don’t do it as often as I’d like, unless I’m already in the area.

clark5080ParticipantDid you know there used to be a Brown Bear Car Wash in West Seattle. It was right on Fauntleroy across the street from Alki Lumber. Alki Lumber uses it as a a storage area now. Right at Fauntleroy and Avalon

GbFPMemberI wonder why they dumped it? Diane thank you for talking with them at Green Fest … I hope it works too.

clark5080ParticipantIt was way back in the mid sixties can’t remember when it closed down

JanSParticipantclark5080..I’m not sure when it left, but I moved here in 1975, and kinda sorta remember going there after that, maybe in the late 70’s even.
