k – it would be nice if that was the way this forum worked but that hasn’t been my experience. No way in heck anyone is getting my name.

I wasn’t questioning the owners rules or anything like that. Since Patrick addressed us, I thought it was reasonable to be curious about what prompted the “reminder.” Also, since we were addressed I thought it reasonable that one of us may have seen the offending incident since by the owners own admission they want the forum section to be self policing and something they can’t monitor 24/7. I guess I am just the sensitive one though.

I can guarantee you that anything I would ever post I would also say to your face.
As to whether my screen name is the same as my real name? Maybe someday I’ll tell.

AnonymousInactivewsblover, I don’t think you were being sensitive, just curious. Like most would be. NR was just trying to be helpful and give a little explanation. It’s difficult to be more specific without opening a can of worms.
Patrick’s comment was almost exclusively complimentary, so I don’t really understand those getting bent out of shape. If you were here at the time of the previous occurrence, you understand how serious it got and what he was referring to. If you were specifically the perpetrator, you understand that you have been put on notice. Everyone else should ask for clarification if they need it, or simply trust the blog owners that they have reasons for their words.
To just assume that we, as a group, are being threatened by the blog owners, is beyond ridiculous if you’ve at all been paying attention to what Tracy and Patrick offer and do for us. At no time have they attempted to censor us for *expressing* ourselves.

AnonymousInactiveYes, I’ve been around since almost the beginning, pre forum, and am quite aware of the service Tracy and Patrick provide. They have always been great to me. I have no issue with NR’s comments, just someone else being hypocritical.

JanSParticipantNR…I think he/they addressed me because I said thank-you to you for the explanation. I suppose I’ve always considered myself a guest here, with wonderful hosts, and well, just like at any party, there may be one or two troublemakers, and they may be politely invited to calm down or perhaps leave, and if the behavior continues, they would be shown the door by the hosts.. and that’s the host’s responsibility to keep things under control like that, lest the house gets torn apart…..and we love TR and Patrick (and their offspring) enough to not let their house get destroyed by said troublemakers…
as you might say, NR, just my 0.02 :)

ShibaguyzMemberMy comment was just that, a comment. I wasn’t questioning the original situation that caused the reactionary comment in this original post.
We have the utmost respect for the work the hosts of the WSB do here. Heck, we can even point directly to this blog putting one of the Shibaguyz on a new, healthier career path. We were not making any statements that said we thought the hosts were bad people.
What I did say was I thought a broad, sweeping statment to the effect of “a new sheriff in town” was a little extreme and, in my opinion, maybe not the best choice. Also, in my opinion, it had a threatening tone to it of don’t mess up or something bad will happen to you.
I’m not dim… I understand the CRAP folks like our hosts put up with. We have our own blog and have it on total lock down for moderating comments. Believe me, we know how people attack you personally and we feel for anyone who takes on this type of task.
So, here I am justifying myself from a few very simple statements I made. I believe I was very clear. No need to read anything more into my comments. I thought the original post was threatening and uncalled for as a general statement to everyone in the forum as “A message to all forum users.”
If you have any other questions about my motivations or want to take any more pot shots at my reasons for posting, please feel free to refer to this post or to the original one I posted.
Patrick and Tracy, if you found it offensive, I’m sorry it offended you. I do not change my original opinion however but do acknowledge your right to do as you please on your own blog. I was simply stating my opinion.

JanSParticipantso…a new healthier, career path…sounds interesting. I’ve been meaning to ask anyway…at least one of you is involved with AM Dance Studio…right? During the part of the TV season when “Dancing with the Stars” is on, NW Afternoon sometimes has local dance instructors come on to comment…have you ever done that? I’m just curious…
and if it seemed that I was “dumping” on you , I apologize…it was not my intention. We’re going to have story time on the 14th at BPP, according to JenV, when all will be revealed, I guess – lol..so come on by (I know, one or both is working, right?), and she’ll tell the story :)
OK…no more threadjacking tonight…getting late – lol…

ShibaguyzMemberJanS – I wasn’t assuming that anyone was dumping on us. We’re both just pretty outspoken so we’re used to people not always liking what we say. We never hold it against anyone and move on fairly quickly unless it gets to a personal attack on one of both of us.
Quite frankly, we’d love to make it to the meet up but we’ll be arriving after 6pm if we make it and I’m not sure how many folks are planning on still being there. Also, I really have no desire to know what happened in the past. As long as everyone is happy now, there ya go…
And, yes, I’ve done segments on NWA in the past but that was right when we started those. I was not a commentator but was a perfomer.
