The triangle building property at corner of Wildwood and Bracepoint (across the street from Endolynes Joes) has been neglected and is a neighborhood eyesore! Has anyone noticed this? Weeds are over a foot tall and spreading seeds everywhere, trees not trimmed, grass not mowed, etc. Looks like no maintenance/upkeep for months. I know most tenants (dentist, massage…) are closed due to social distancing. Any suggestions of how to complain to owners, city?

Long story short … we need a new lawnmower because our teenage son drove over the front part of it while parking the car in the garage. I wish I was making this up.

We would appreciate any recommendations for affordable lawnmowers.

If you are in need of non-medical face masks, I am sewing them, and asking for a donation to cover the cost of materials. Most people are giving me around $5 per mask, but some give a bit less, and others have given me as much as $10 a piece. Thank you in advance for helping me to purchase more fabric and elastic, etc. with your donations.

You can view the 24 different fabric designs, and read all the details about them on my ebay posting here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/324161392255. Since there are tons of face masks for sale on ebay already, I am not getting many sales there. But I am not really interested in making money from my face masks. I’ve given many out to friends and family members already and have gotten lots of positive feedback.

FYI, my face masks have 3 layers for more protection: 1 layer of non-woven interfacing sewn between 2 layers of 100% pre-washed cotton fabric. Bendable wire sewn in along bridge of nose for tighter fit. If you need a larger or smaller mask, or would prefer ties instead of elastic then email me, and I will try to accommodate your needs. The custom sizes and styles are more labor-intensive so an additional donation is appreciated.

I will be adding 12 more fabric designs to my ebay listing within the next few days!
If you live in the area we could do a no-contact porch pick up or I could mail them to you, if you’d prefer. People have been leaving cash in an envelope for me upon pickup, or sending me their donation via Venmo. Feel free to email me (stacey1955@gmail.com) if you want to arrange to get some of my handmade face masks. Turnaround times vary, depending on how many orders are ahead of yours at the time you place your order.

    Stay safe, everyone!

I have seen a number of boat trailers pull up to only find the gates closed. Boating’s open but the ramp is closed. I wonder if there’s a way to accommodate boaters. I understand that if the gate is open, non-boaters will try to park inside. Low priority but maybe move the pay station one boat & trailer length inside the gate?

PS: they seem to be doing some much needed catch up maintenance while they have the chance.

I’d like to air a grievance about the line at the White Center Starbucks. First let me say hats off to the people that work there – they’re doing an awesome job and working so hard to make sure we all have delicious coffee and yummy food. The main problem with the line(s) that form here are there are two (even three, or four depending on how you look at it) ways the line can form. This then takes effort from people, much like the zipper merge, to let people in that may have come in after you, to keep traffic moving and the flow making sense. Today, on Mother’s Day, I pulled in from SW 100th to get off the road, entering the line that had formed through the parking lot. I figured that someone would let me in, just like I would do in that situation. Also much like the Ambaum and SW 148th Starbucks, where people can grasp that design of letting a car in here, a car in there. However, the guy driving the car that would have made sense to let me in front of pulled in AS CLOSE as he could possibly get to the car in front of him to box me out. Maybe this wasn’t the best move, but I did roll down my window and say something to the effect of “hey! that’s kind of rude, this is an entrance too” to which he said a couple of things back to me, none of which I can remember. Then the “Gen Z” guy behind him started shouting at me, pulled the same move to box me out, then rolled down the window and called me a “carrot!” Thinking that was in reference to my red hair, I asked to confirm “what does that mean?” to which he replied with a hand wave as if I would never understand “oh, it’s a Gen Z term, basically stop being a bitch and get in line like everyone else!” I was so stunned that someone called me a bitch first thing in the morning on Mother’s Day, and then the tears started coming! I did call the Starbucks while in line and taddle on the guy, letting them know the red Subaru man was VERY RUDE. The manager was great and asked if I was all right, which I was. I don’t know what I expected from that call, but it made me feel better, much like writing this does as well. So, thanks for reading. And if this is anything, it is a friendly reminder to be nice to each other in this world where everyone is so on edge. (That’s a reminder for me too, as after a few great bear hugs from my husband when I got home, he reminded me that maybe the Starbucks gods were hitting me with some Karma for honking at a guy in line at Starbucks the other day … not my best move, and he’s probably right.)
