    Thank you Jan!!!

One item worth noting; during the summer a vast majority of the FIRST STUDENT school buses that transport our Seattle City Schools students were outfitted with exterior cameras to catch those who do run their ‘reds’ and ‘stop paddles’.

6 cameras are activated when the ‘reds’ are engaged by the driver that will photograph any vehicle that passes along the drivers side of the bus, the cameras are designed to take snap-shots of both the front and rear of the vehicle(s) as it passes, so there’s no way to get away with it.

A couple minutes of patience can save you a whole lot of $, and/or some families a whole lot of grief!!

Please be patient, we drivers don’t want to hold-up traffic any longer than we need to, however our priority must, and always will be the safe movement of our the ‘little darlings’ off/on our bus ALL THE WAY to/from the sidewalk and/or away from the dangers of traffic, or until they are ALL completely seated in our “big yellow limo’s”.

The first few days of school will likely result in longer-than-normal stops as parents and drivers workout details. Again, we’re aware of the bind we’re putting on traffic but its a necessity to towards a safe and uneventful school-year of transporting other people’s children.

Something that I sincerely love doing and take very seriously!

I’ve wanted to build a push or bicycle cart shelter for situations like these but haven’t a clue about local ordinances. Maybe we can find a couple of local businesses that wouldn’t mind giving her a safe place to lock it down/park?

Stumbled across THIS and wonder if MT would be interested in it.

Pushcart, lightweight, lockable, shelter from elements, storage, and could be an awesome community project. I love the paint job on the last Sara Cloultier example and think it would brighten both MTs day as well as WS locals.

…only if she is open to the idea.

I am more than willing to dedicate build space, materials and sweat to helping.

ASK: A dear friend of mine sold her large house in days and had to vacate quickly for the new owners. She’s found a temporary place way out of town but would love to find a M-I-L apartment in an older home back here. She’s a special lady. Kind, considerate, cooperative, clean. She’d make a wonderful tenant. I’d love to find her an appreciative West Seattle home again.

I have to agree with Forest regarding Southwest Plumbing. We called them to work on some older plumbing. The worker became frustrated for some reason and threw his tools across the room.

    The end.

O’Neil absolutely! I’ve been recommending them for years. Full side sewer replacement plus re-plumbing on multiple projects. Large projects and small. I would never use anyone else.

Are you a high school student? Are you retired? Do you have a flexible work schedule in the afternoons? Then we need YOU to help us open a 4:20-5:20PM tutoring session at High Point tutoring center in West Seattle!

At the Youth Tutoring Program of Catholic Community Services, we are constantly striving to better serve our students living in West Seattle’s low and mixed-income housing communities. In order to reach more students, many who come from immigrant and refugee families, we want to start an additional tutoring session on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:20-5:20PM.

The school year starts September 18th!

With only a one hour commitment per week on either a Tuesday or Thursday afternoon, you can make a meaningful impact in a student’s life. We match tutors and students 1:1 to foster the best mentoring and tutoring relationships, focusing on skill building so our students can catch-up and get ahead in school.

No experience is necessary to volunteer! Not only do we train our volunteers to be effective tutors, we provide our volunteers with tools (such as individualized tutor plans and skill-building activities) so that you have what you need to make a difference!

The minimum age for volunteering is 14, and High School students are encouraged to volunteer!

Our High Point tutoring center is located at 6400 Sylvan Way SW (Room 214)

We just had a full side sewer line replacement done by Green Planet Plumbing and were very satisfied. GPP is also a West Seattle business (located on Fauntleroy). The owner, Tyler, is a person of great expertise and integrity and I was super happy we went with him. Definitely get a bid from them!

Found hand bag with insulated lunch bag inside on bus #21 at about 5:25 pm today (8/31/2017). I think it was left by a person that got off at the stop before Morgan st. stop. I heard someone bang on the side of the bus after it took off but did not actually see the person. I got off the bus on Morgan and walked back to other stop but could not find anyone waiting. Describe the bag and I will figure out how to get it back to you.
