Topic: part-time nanny needed
Greetings!
We are seeking a part-time nanny for our 11 month old in our home. Hours are ~11:30am-3pm Monday-thursday. This should be a very easy job as the baby is happiest during those hours. Also, we often work from home so there will be help.
We are offering $50 cash per day.
We live in the Genesee neighborhood. Please email or call to discuss.

As the traffic has been ramping up, I found myself sitting in traffic again. Any little deviation from the norm seems to snarl our residents and reduce common courtesy in the drivers.
Some of these observations are common but correctable. Others I hope will just need to brought to our attention as inappropriate on the road and to take in the future. It is entirely possible that some are not aware of that these things are illegal. This is meant to save you a ticket in future.
Traffic signs are a good start. There are no left turns from the Trader Joe’s parking lot. This is dangerous and I have personally seen close calls there.
In that same area, it would be good to remind drivers that you should not block intersections. 38th is a through street and you should not block the intersection on Fauntleroy.
Please merge/zipper on Fauntleroy Way at Fauntleroy and Edmunds with respect. One car after the other, it isn’t a run to get ahead. If you cannot zipper, don’t speed ahead to make up the distance.
Zippering is a sensitive subject for me. I feel a good reason that traffic stalls or we run into slowness is the lack of zippering. If we all zipper we will see a continuous movement and less stopping. We see backup occur because we break formation and one car has to slow or stop to let another car break the pattern. We have many instances where we have zippers occurring on Fauntleroy and the West Seattle Bridge.
On to the Bridge. Even with the ‘Bus Lane Only’ markings I am still seeing several cars in that lane each morning. I counted 7 today from the Nucor plant to the Avalon entrance. I saw 3 more at the crest of the bridge, and unfortunately 2 more before the 1st street entrance. I understand that traffic is slow, and we all want to get to our destinations, but the solid white line is a no crossing line in WA, I think we forget this. plus there is at times a motorcycle officer waiting to enforce this.
I carpool, and I see a lot. Most of what I see is drivers on the phone talking and a lot more cases than you realize where drivers are using the phone for other things than talking. Slower traffic does not make it safe to use your phone while driving. In bumper to bumper traffic is more important to be aware of what is going on. Not only are you unaware of what is going on in front of you or to you right and left, you impact drivers behind your vehicle.
In summary, all of our personal actions impact those around us and in turn have an effect on the whole of the traffic problem that we all endure. It will only get worse as West Seattle gets more residents. Any little thing we can do to improve our commute should be listed.
