Anybody got a link to noise and/or nuisance ordinances that apply in West Seattle? I’d like to understand what is a rule-breaking nuisance I can report and do something about vs. what I just have to put up with.

My problem is the ice cream truck parked in front of my house near the school, blaring its little jingle nonstop for several hours a day, several days a week.

I guess lots of people must have their own noise complaints. It would be nice to have a short summary of what’s allowed and who to complain to about excessive stuff.

My daughter had a soccer game last Sunday from 12:30 to 1:30pm. She asked me to hold her necklace which is a gift from her godfather for her first birthday. I put it in a zippered pocket but didn’t know there was a hole in it. It has a circle pendant with three swirls in a Celtic pattern. I feel terrible about it. If you found it, please reach out at 310-383-2010.

Sorry for the late reply and thanks for sharing this important information. It’s definitely concerning to hear about minors getting access to vape pens. Parents and guardians must stay vigilant and check their teens’ belongings for such items. While I’m also working on kicking the habit, I still vape sometimes. And recently I’ve come across a helpful resource: https://www.vaporizerchief.com/weed-vaporizer-sitemap/ that offers quality vape products. So, I encourage you to explore reputable websites that provide information and products for responsible adult use. Remember, it’s always essential to make informed decisions and prioritize the health and safety of ourselves and those around us.

aa. I did read your post. If you’re not buying something because you feel it’s “not clean”-your right to judge then clearly perceived, or real, cleanliness IS an issue.

Did CarDriver read my post? I think not because I made no mention of needing absolute cleanliness. I said outside of the ice cream case I have no problem with the store, dusty jars and all. If you’re going to lecture people get your facts straight first.

Main reason is because its an old building. Also its very hard to keep up with random ice cream bits flying around inside the case during days as busy as they have. Personally I don’t buy scooped ice cream there because of the messy case. And teenagers will never keep it as clean as I want. The rest of the business i chalk up to its age and have no problem. And who has time to dust all of those jars?

Dear Patience, background checks are good but there is so much more you could find for someone wanting to work for you. “Good criminals” and those who prey on the elderly or people in need may not have a record at all. They just haven’t got caught yet. Get current and consecutive work history. Get references other than friends and relatives. Get someone like their landlord to give a reference. Let me know if you’d like some more tips, in case you’re still looking for someone. I have 35 years experience in the Home Care industry.

Four times in the last week, Pest Service salesmen have come to my door (even tho posted “no soliciting”) selling their services. Each guy was dressed in a branded hat and polo shirt. Each guy started his “pitch” complimenting my t-shirt (standard grey T-shirt! What?). I quickly interrupted, pointed to the “no soliciting sign”, reported I already had Pest Service and asked them not to return. They continued their pitch. I shut the door. One of them returned the next day selling again.
Frustrating. Annoying. Bit suspicious. Anyone else have this recent Pest Service onslaught?

Finding the right church for you can be a personal process. I’d recommend researching different denominations and their beliefs to see which resonates with you. Visiting churches and attending services is a great way to get a feel for their community and teachings. Don’t hesitate to contact church members or leaders for information or advice.
