I Love Love Love my Acupuncturist Dr. Carter from New Leaf Natural Medicine in West Seattle. I went to her for Menopause issues and neck pain. She was very helpful with both and some. She is not only a Doctor but is Very knowledgeable in two types of acupuncture. She does not take insurance but her rate scale is sliding, depending on what you can afford. I highly recommend her !!

Yes!! How funny; just last night I was telling someone that I thought she would like those books. I have read them all except the Lord John Grey series. Good stuff. I liked the first three in the series the best, then started to find them a bit slow, but still readable.

herongrrrl is correct on the two being easy to tell apart (but it does help to have them side by side). I believe Rufous are a bit smaller too. I also only have Anna’s at my feeder but see Rufous quite a bit when I visit my folks on Lopez Island. The two varieties share the feeder there.

Hilariously, Smitty, your graphic supports the idea that small changes in our environment can have real measurable effects on climate. The fluctuation in global temperatures have historically been in response to things such as volcanoes, fires, and solar variance. Each of these things caused changes that were really quite subtle, yet had a strong global climatic effect.

Currently, humans are dumping excess CO2 into the atmosphere. That subtle cause will have an effect – the history clearly shows us this fact. And it will add another upward hump to the graph you showed.

Suggesting naturally caused climate change somehow negates the possibility of human causes is silly and naive.

Are they in a bed that is bordered by concrete? If so, how wide? If they’re healthy boxwoods that are not in a narrow bed bordered by concrete, there should be no problem getting them out.

I’d post them as free for the digging either here on the WSB, or Craigslist. I guarantee someone will take them. Boxwoods don’t always transplant well, but many would be willing to take a chance if the plant is free. If you’re a member of Plant Amnesty, you can post there as well.

This Sherman Clay “Gulbransen” piano can be yours today!!

After more than a century Sherman Clay and Co. closed it’s doors – but do not fret – this beautiful, single family owned and barely used piano can be yours today.

We are willing to take offers on this piano and would like to have it in your home this week. (I hear Sundays are great days for music and merriment!)

Also, the West Duwamish Greenbelt and field at Pathfinder are always full of unleashed doggies. Saw one lady enter the trails with three unleashed pit bulls once and was charged on the field by an unleashed Doberman (me and my five year old)…luckily the dog responded to it’s owner but we were nonetheless scared poopless. I understand WS should have more dog parks, we are a sixth of Seattle’s population and we obviously are going to keep growing. I don’t own a dog because my daughter is allergic (to their saliva) and it’s really hard to get dog owners to listen to me regarding this. I will say sorry she cannot pet as she has allergies yet they will ignore me and approach my kid anyway. Some people are just inconsiderate…the way they handle their dogs, drive, etc. An ideal world would be nice but at least we’ve got this blog to vent ;))

    Hi Sue,

We do still have one room available at KOB. The room available has a sink, counter and cabinets and is about 80 square feet. We are planning on having some classes on the weekends. So far all our practitioners are weekdays however the classes wouldn’t be anything super loud so should not interfere with seeing clients. I love our space and all the current practitioners!

Here is who we are https://kingdomofbasil.com/about/

and craigslist ad (I’ve been so busy that I keep on forgetting to repost it)

I’ve been on Comcast TV and internet from 8pm until now (12:30am). Internet has been sluggish – pages hanging occasionally and long to load, though they ultimately do – but the TV has been fine.

I dunno, Kevin; I had to give up on Comcast at least seven years ago when I lived just off Fauntleroy because of constant dropped connections. That’s how I learned Comcast is a cobbled together system of frequently old and or incompatible equipment systems they “bought up” as they expanded, and seem to spend as little as possible on upgrading or fixing. As someone who works at home, their (lack of) service quality wasn’t acceptable.

    .

Loathe to deal with them, and currently stuck with Clink DSL, so between a rock and a hard place. Still cursing that Gigabit Seattle thing cratered. The monopolies will only improve service/increase bandwidth and drop prices when they get actual competition.

I was brave enough to put on the diving gear, but when it came to rolling backward off the dinghy into shark infested waters, I chickened out. The rest of them went in though, they met up with about 50 hammerheads, apparantly harmless, I hoped that they had a nice conversation with them, and felt very happy that I had not taken the plunge.

I might add here at the end that generating a truly random number just to create a unique div ID is way overkill. You don’t need a random number. Yessis is talking about when he says you will not want to land heel first. Keep the pace slow and relaxing..

There are often commission fees involved, and you have to purchase a specific amount,Running Nike Pas Cher, and delivery charges can be a factor. Some companies will provide you with bundles that will allow you to save money at tourist attractions. In contrast, beginners use “explicit” thinking, “consciously monitoring what they are doing as they build the neural framework supporting the task”. Thank you, JayDee. Frankly, I don’t know what it’s going to take to change people’s minds. I find that debating this issue does little good – people who love their guns tend to ignore the facts. And, if Sandy Hook, Columbine, Isla Vista, etc., etc., don’t change people’s minds, I don’t know what it will take.

Apologies for drifting slightly off-topic, but when did the phrase “active shooter” become part of our everyday conversation?

Ooh, I love these! Most of my peeves have already been mentioned.

“Fewer” and “less” – ie: “There should be less cars in Seattle.” :/

When a crime is being described or written about and the perpetrator of the crime is described as a “gentleman”, ie: “The gentleman proceeded to punch me in the face and grab my wallet.” Seriously?

I do some social media work for my place of employment (law firm), and I wanted to retweet a tweet (Twitter) the other day, but couldn’t because it said “Are you an artist who has a leagal question?” It was a group for lawyers who support the arts in Washington. :/

We found Zuper Cleaning on Angie’s List about a year and a half ago and they’ve been doing a fantastic job on our weekly service at a very reasonable price! We are not home while they clean, but occasionally leave a note asking for special attention in one area, and we have never had a problem.

Joni did a perfectly Joni version of her own song on Miles of Aisles that might be my favorite.

Always loved her comment from that album about the difference between types of artists. Upon hearing folks yell song requests from the audience she said, “Nobody ever told Van Gogh, ‘hey man, paint Starry Night again’.”

Cat described as not liking to be “pet”. Same cat described as having been “spaded”. Sounds like animal abuse to me.

    “Rod” iron.

The document left behind by Isla Vista shooter Elliot Rodger described repeatedly by media as a “manifesto”. It was a diatribe, not a manifesto. While manifestos can also be written by narcissistic nut jobs, they usually contain some kind of political theory beyond misogynistic murder.

Another couple of common-ish ones that are up there with loose(r)=lose(r), conveniently packaged in a sentence:

“I am SO greatful that the breaks on my car are good, because some nutcase, driving a white Escalade, aggressively tailgated me for a block, honking, while I was going 3 mph over the limit. Then they whipped around me and cut me off! I had to slam them on so herd, I thought I’d brake (less common error) my neck!”
