And i am not against taking any vaccine. I am against whoever has an issue with one asking questions to both learn the answer or at least oposing veiwpoints and also to encourage all to ask their own instead of blindly doing whatever is told of them. Or is this way of thinking to dangerous for you.

Well, this conversation sort of devolved. But for what it’s worth, I have an 11 year old who other than one friend, has only met with her friends outdoors, masked, for the past almost two years. They meet once weekly and NONE of them complain about continued masking outdoors. They have a covered outdoor area to hang out, space out while having dinner together, watched an outdoor movie last summer, had a backyard sleepover, all in their own tents…they are more happy to be together under these circumstances and wear a mask than not see friends. When omicron hit, we met with a large number of kids to sled–and all happily agreed to mask outdoors. Their masks don’t get snotty, as was mentioned at one point, we do wash them after each use. Kids are not complaining. It sounds like one parent is. Also, suggesting we put an end to the mask mandate in schools is just irresponsible.

    Cheese,

I am a bit confused why you are not asking these questions of your doctor or, at least, of a medical professional staffing one of the many Covid related call centers.

Asking random strangers on a small, local internet message board just doesn’t seem like the best way to let yourself be convinced of anything. While relying solely on authority is of course a fallacy in itself, it does seem like your questions should be posed to medical professionals (for a couple different reasons).

Cheese- i am not an authority on any of this. I didn’t get my shot to keep others safe. I got it to stay safe myself and as I understand it, the vaccines and booster can keep me from getting seriously ill. Yes I can still get sick but not as sick as I would if I hadn’t been vaccinated.
Also, I didn’t get vaccinated because I was scared. I did it because there is a global pandemic and it was important to me to do my part. And to not die. I don’t know if the unvaccinated are not getting shots because they aren’t scared. How could they not be scared?? You ask why things can’t go back to normal, because people are still transmitting the virus.

    FEMA dot gov

If you know someone who has died from COVID, FEMA has up to $35,500 dollars for reimbursement funds. Follow the .gov link and the information is there. It’s phone calls and I’m sure a lot of paperwork, no online applications. But wow.

I’m in the same area and haven’t seen anything, but this used to be a frequent occurrence. The sales reps are not actually affiliated with Century Link, they are independent contractors. Impossible to say if the person you saw was an actual rep…or something else. It does seem odd that there would be any door-to-door activity during Covid. I’m on block watch, so I’ll keep an eye out for this. Thanks for looking out for your neighbors!

A middle aged caucasian man with short salt and pepper hair and a mustache knocked on our door this afternoon around 3pm. He lingered a bit after ringing the bell and then knocked on the door. I called CenturyLink and they said they didn’t believe they have anyone contacting prospective customers in this manner. I watched him continue down the block but couldn’t see if he actually knocked on more doors. I haven’t seen anyone going door to door in over six months, and it seemed to me more like he was looking for empty houses. We are in the area of 35th and 102nd, has anyone else had someone with a CenturyLink offer come to the door recently?

Please wear your masks. This Virus is not over. One Thousand and Eight Hundred are dying EVERYDAY in the US. I seriously don’t understand why it is so difficult to wear a mask.
WEAR YOUR MASKS, it won’t kill you, the Virus CAN. If not kill you, kill my elders, or your neighbor. Is your “freedom” worth someone else’s death?

You may want to warn my fellow residence and readers of this blog, that SDOT parking enforcement is ticketing automobiles with expired plates. In my particular case, my automobile was issued a $45.00 citation for expired tabs outside my home. Albeit my car is sitting along the curb on a public street, the officer must have closed his eyes while driving past the multitude of RV’s and other vehicles along Harbor Avenue.

I haven’t driven that particular vehicle in months due to COVID-19 and working from home. I do however pay over $20k a year in property-tax and would appreciate a little understanding during these hard-times. This city must get their priorities figured out before Seattle becomes another liberal city with increasing rates of people fleeing for a brighter, healthier future somewhere else.

All the city neighborhoods are established. Meaning unless a house (or small business) is torn down there’s no space for denser housing. Unless the city condemns and kicks someone out it’ll be hard to build-unless they build in a green space. Tricknology. Developers have always been able to do things individuals can’t. There really are one set of rules for individuals and a set of rules(wink wink) for developers.
