First and foremost I’d like to THANK EACH and EVRYONE of YOU for your thoughtful words and wisdom on this very trying time for my husband and myself!
Bean is still here with us but it was a confusing weekend, we did the BG Curve on Saturday and his BG’s stayed in the very high 600’s and low 700’s then Sunday we did another one, not every 2 hours but close to it and that one he was in the high 300’s once dipped to 105 and then back up to 351 this is why we are having a very hard time with the thought of letting him go but then his BG this morning at 440am was 465??? Results sent to Vet now we wait to see what they think.

The STOP N’ SHOP, is lucky to be the recipient of many wonderful donations from the community, ranging from furniture, clothing, and home décor. The proceeds provide financial support that keep the many wonderful programs running at the Senior Center of West Seattle.
We are looking for cashiers on Saturdays and Sundays from 10am-1pm or 1pm-4pm. If you are friendly, helpful, and enjoy working with the community, this could be a fun role for you.
We are open seven days a week, have flexible hours, and a fun team of volunteers. We are now looking for volunteers both for customer facing roles such as cashiers and customer service as well as more behind the scenes roles like organizing & cleaning, sorting merchandise, research, pricing, and tagging.

RCW 46.61.235
Crosswalks.
(1) The operator of an approaching vehicle shall stop and remain stopped to allow a pedestrian, bicycle, or personal delivery device to cross the roadway within an unmarked or marked crosswalk when the pedestrian, bicycle, or personal delivery device is upon or within one lane of the half of the roadway upon which the vehicle is traveling or onto which it is turning. For purposes of this section “half of the roadway” means all traffic lanes carrying traffic in one direction of travel, and includes the entire width of a one-way roadway.
(2) No pedestrian, bicycle, or personal delivery device shall suddenly leave a curb or other place of safety and walk, run, or otherwise move into the path of a vehicle which is so close that it is impossible for the driver to stop.
(3) Subsection (1) of this section does not apply under the conditions stated in RCW 46.61.240(2).
(4) Whenever any vehicle is stopped at a marked crosswalk or at any unmarked crosswalk at an intersection to permit a pedestrian, bicycle, or personal delivery device to cross the roadway, the driver of any other vehicle approaching from the rear shall not overtake and pass such stopped vehicle.
(5)(a) If a person is found to have committed an infraction under this section within a school, playground, or crosswalk speed zone created under RCW 46.61.440, the person must be assessed a monetary penalty equal to twice the penalty assessed under RCW 46.63.110. The penalty may not be waived, reduced, or suspended.
(b) Fifty percent of the moneys collected under this subsection must be deposited into the school zone safety account.

I’m wondering about the reappearing “Mt. Poo” dog poo bags on the sidewalk, at the corner of Edmunds and SW 44th Ave, next to the Chase Bank and across from True value. Are dog owners waiting for the Dog Poo Fairy to appear and magically take the bags away? They were there last week and then someone cleaned them up (Thank you!), but when I drove by tonight, they were back :-(
It is very hard to like dog owners when they litter so blatantly like this. You’ve obviously taken the time and spent the money to buy the bags, is it so much to ask to complete the last step and dispose of them in YOUR TRASH CAN or a public can in the junction?

In the last few weeks I’ve walked past a house on the East side of 44th Ave about a 1/2 a block north of Spokane St. at night. All 3 times I’ve walked passed I’ve seen 3 large raccoons on the front porch of the house & the last time (last night) I saw a small dog in the house that wasn’t barking… even with raccoons just feet away from him just outside the front door. Just made me curious if these raccoons are welcome additions at this house, and how the raccoons react when the home owner uses their front door. Anyone?
