For Labor Day weekend, I went from Seattle->Boise->Craters of the Moon->West Yellowstone route. I hadn’t ever driven on I-84 or through the TriCities area before so it was a lot of fun. If you are into geology, I’d at least stop by Craters of the Moon outside of Arco, Idaho, or if you are into nuclear energy history, there are a few places outside of Arco as well.
Overall I-84 okay drive, not a whole lot to do. A friend mentioned to me that for an adventure to go on the John Day Highway as it’s full of twist and turns.
