This affects real lives..
not just those of the government workers who have been furloughed or who are working without pay.
those workers support local businesses and they can’t do so when they aren’t being paid.
you might say that one or two days doesn’t make a difference… but that depends upon where you sit.
for any community that depends upon the tourist trade from national parks each day the government is shut down is one day closer to bankruptcy for the entire community.
for us, closing the locks doesn’t make that large an impact…
but closing the Grand Canyon? or Yellowstone? or ????
