I set up this site so that people who have a special bond with their animals have somewhere to go where they do not feel alone. I work mainly with hospice and very sick animals and it is amazing some of the cruelty their animal caregivers get from friends, family and co-workers. Including comments like it’s only a dog, isn’t it cheaper to buy a new one. This is very loved member of their family. Before judging please realize that those who care so deeply about animals are amazing people with an incredible capacity for love and sharing. So they may spend their money on animal acupuncture or other care that you see as ridiculous. Somehow that seems a better use of money than the commercialism that is rampant in our society. When you realize how much love a dog, cat or other companion animal can give, how much is unconditional love worth to you?
Veterinary acupuncturists in this area have a great enough demand that many of us spend most of the year not accepting new patients. I have only meet one animal so far that would not accept my treatments. Animals know when you are trying to help. I know many of you will see this is crazy but I would not have clients if people did not love their animals and if the acupuncture did not work. Please imagine how you would feel if some of the comments above were made about people.
Please instead of judging people, ask questions. If we all approached this world with wonder and curiosity imagine what it would be:-)
