At the West Seattle (Admiral) Library Sunday, April 5, 2015, 3–4 pm:

Join us for new music by Robin Holcomb performed by the composer (piano, voice) with cellist Peggy Lee and, in honor of National Poetry Month, a setting of a poem by Turkish poet Nazim Hikmet.

Robin Holcomb and Peggy Lee have been working together since 2006 in a variety of ensembles featuring compositions by Robin Holcomb.

Recent projects include We Are All Failing Them, a song cycle regarding the Donner Party saga with film and magic objects which premiered at The Northwest Film Forum, The Point of It All on Songlines recordings and music for Yasujiro Ozu’s silent film That Night’s Wife.

They have been featured performers at the Vancouver Jazz Festival, the PuSH Festival and the Royal Room in Seattle and are currently recording their multifaceted repertoire: compositions extended by improvisation, songs and settings of the poetry of Nazim Hikmet.

Library events and programs are free and everyone is welcome. Registration is not required.
