The Duwamish Valley community is invited to come together for the 19th Annual
Duwamish River Festival, a free, family-friendly celebration of culture, community, and environmental stewardship
on Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Duwamish River People’s Park and Shoreline
Habitat (8700 Dallas Ave S, Seattle, WA 98108).

This year’s festival is especially exciting as the Duwamish River Festival joins together with SoPaSuPa (South
Park Summer Party) and Cultivate South Park to create one unforgettable celebration for the entire Duwamish
Valley. Together, these community partners are bringing neighbors, families, youth, elders, artists, performers, and
local organizations together for an afternoon filled with music, dance, art, food, cultural traditions, storytelling,
environmental learning, and activities for all ages.

The Duwamish River Festival is more than an annual event—it is a celebration of the people who make the
Duwamish Valley strong. The festival honors the river that has shaped the region’s history while recognizing the
community’s ongoing commitment to restoring and protecting this vital waterway for future generations.
“The Duwamish River reminds us that we are all connected,” organizers shared. “As we gather along its shores, we
celebrate the resilience, diversity, and creativity of our communities, as well as the collective action that continues
to improve the health of our neighborhoods and our river.”

Throughout the day, attendees will experience performances representing the rich cultural diversity of the
Duwamish Valley, interactive environmental education, local artists and makers, community resources, youth
activities, and opportunities to connect with organizations working to advance environmental justice, public
health, and neighborhood resilience. The festival creates a welcoming space where people from every culture,
generation, and background can celebrate together, strengthen community connections, and imagine a brighter
future for the Duwamish Valley.

Community members from across the region are encouraged to attend this free event and be part of one of
Seattle’s longest-running celebrations of the Duwamish River and the communities that call its shores home.
