Some tickets are still left for JP Patches at the Admiral Theater tomorrow morning (available online here) — not only will the local TV legend be there, so will a magic act that the Admiral’s Steve Garrett told us is truly amazing, including the magician’s 14-year-old protege. Along with a walkathon, two fundraiser yard sales (one of which is under way right now!) and a fundraiser book sale, even a luau! and much more — we have 43 West Seattle weekend events ahead (and if you have to leave WS this weekend, remember the traffic advisories we published here and here):

DAILY THRU JULY 26: Fauntleroy Church bell-ringing daily at noon as part of centennial observance (read more here)

OPENING FRIDAY, CONTINUING THROUGH JUNE 3: Intergenerational Art Show at Providence Mt. Vincent; art show features works of art by the residents and children at The Mount. The artwork is displayed in the first floor hallway gallery and is available for sale. Proceeds benefit the Intergenerational Art Program. There will be an Artist Reception on Thursday, May 22nd from 4-6 pm – a good chance to interact with the older adults and the preschoolers who collaborate on the art.

FRIDAY & SATURDAY: Yard Sale Fundraiser for Youth Group Mission Trip to Mexico – 10 am-5 pm – 42nd & Genesee – Tons of quality items, old and new – furniture, kitchen kitsch, kids stuff, household items. Proceeds go to support a group of teenagers from West Seattle Christian Church who will be traveling to sunny Mexico this summer – but not to relax on the beach – these troopers will be driving the long journey down to Tijuana, Mexico to build a house for a needy family.

FRIDAY & SATURDAY: “Questioning Silence” art exhibit @ ArtsWest, noon-7 pm both days

FRIDAY-SATURDAY-SUNDAY: “Seattle Yarn” in West Seattle and 24 other yarn stores (LYS) throughout Puget Sound participate in the 3rd Annual LYS Tour (receive a different free single skein pattern at each participating shop, discounts, events and a grand prize of $500 will go to one lucky tour-goer who visits each shop. Seattle Yarn has extended hours during the event: Thursday 10-9, Friday 10 – 9, Saturday 10 – 9, and Sunday 10 – 6. Pick up a map and passport at “Seattle Yarn”)

SATURDAY MORNING-AFTERNOON: Big outdoor sale 8 am-2 pm at 42nd Ave SW & SW Oregon (covered parking lot behind Hope Lutheran Church). Call 937-9330 to arrange advance collection of your donated items (no large appliances, auto parts, tv’s, mattress/boxsprings, hazardous materials). Sponsored by High School Mexican Mission Team; proceeds help Hope Lutheran Church send thirty students to Ensenada, MX to build furniture, distribute clothing and food, and conduct bible programs.
