Skillet update: They will NOT be in West Seattle this Sunday

Seems to be part of the upshot of the situation on which we reported earlier, but we’ve just confirmed it – since their backup trailer was the problem, they’re taking their main setup to the Mariners’ game instead of bringing it over here. So again, NO Skillet in West Seattle this Sunday; we’ll check on subsequent Sundays later.

Am I the only one who has a problem patronizing a facility which has repeatedly been shut down for health code violations? Everybody’s all about Skillet ~I’m sure it’s great. Never had the opportunity, but with all these violations/fines, I may have to pass.

Yay! More burgers for us Skillet burger lovers!
I look forward to having another when they’re back in WS.

afrikola’s slogan says it all: kein vergnuegen ohne gefahr: “no pleasure without danger”

Husky Deli comes to mind…needs an overhaul to clean it up the standards others are cited for.

I saw Skillet across the street from the Mariner’s game on Wednesday night…no one in line at all at 6:45pm, while the hot dog guy across the street had lots of people in line.

Not sure why, but maybe folks wanted the $5 hot dog instead of the $10 burger.

Whoa, elevated concern. Husky has one of the cleanest records I’ve seen on the health department website. You’re messing with people’s livelihood when you make comments like that without support.

Re dude. Don’t be so dense. If you knew how disgusting every Seattle restaurant was you’ld look past skillet’s problems and realize the health dept is mostly picking on them because skillet doesn’t fit the mold. I’m a chef and every restaurant I’ve worked at ( all top Seattle restaurants) has it’s share of problems, from roachs (most common, every restaurant has them) to rats! Skillet was experiencing technical difficulties that normal brick and mortar restaurants never have to deal with because they aren’t moving to new locations every day. But the quality and price of skillet’s food far surpasses that of it’s static bretherin. I’m more concerned with why they’d sell out to the mariners rather than bring their food to the small neighborhoods where it would be more appreciated.

@SpookBrian i think you are right on some levels but you just cannot put everything in the same basket like that!!!

@SpookBrian…have you ever worked in a restaurant that didn’t even have hot water or refrigeration, and continued to sell food? If so, let me know so I can avoid them.

We all enjoy Tony Bourdain and everyone’s on the “No Risk / No Pleasure” bandwagon…but what some folks forget is that Bourdain admits he frequently vomits after street food, and has to budget a Doctor as part of his media “business”.

I wonder how much love Skillet is going to get when they finally give 20-50 of their best customer food poisoning?
It’s kinda tough to chant “Oh boy, more burgers for me!” after one has spent a few quality hours puking blood.
