New transportation option for West Seattle Microsoft employees

A friend who works at Microsoft has solved a mystery we started looking into when we discovered a entry on the WSB Twitter page that said “Woo-hoo! West Seattle connector routes announced!” Metro? Sound Transit? Couldn’t find anything re: those services. Then our friend e-mailed to say West Seattle is one of nine areas being added to the Microsoft Connector employee bus service, as of October 6th. (The service started just last year.) ADDED 10:14 PM: Thanks to another source who sent the route map; click the image above to see the whole regional layout.

Any more details about their frequency and pickup points?

The link our friend sent was a password-protected site, so I guess it’s an “if you have to ask, you don’t need to know” type of thing, though I will be checking around further later.

The problem with the Microsoft Connector employee bus is that it has to constantly pull over to reinstall drivers.

    LOL, Aidan!

Ok Who pay for the new monitor to make up for the one I just spit beer all over. That is some SERIOUS geek humor Aidan

I’m a PC: If someone was making cracks about the Microsoft Connector employee bus ten years ago then it’s news to me. I only do original material.
    .
marty: I’m sure I’ve got an e-mail somewhere in my inbox that I can send you. I think the deal is that if you forward it to all of your friends Bill Gates sends you $1,000. Or something like that. Should cover your monitor repairs.

Aidan: Funniest thing I’ve read all week. Kudos!

Looking forward to the creatire comforts of the Connector

FYI – for now The Connector is only for FTE’s. If you’re a West Seattle orange badge, you can’t ride. :-(

Ah, yes, outsourcing, whether to India or West Seattle, no equivalent to being full employee. Reminds me of Starship Troopers and the booming voice of the government (i.e. Microsoft) ” Join the Mobile Infantry and save the Galaxy. Service guarantees citizenship. Would you like to know more.”

Are there any MS commuters outside of Admiral? It looks like there are two stops in Admiral, but none near the Junction or south of that excluding a final stop at Alki.

If your an MS employee, I suggest you email the Connector folks and suggest another stop along California. I did.

Geeb, there’s one by the Masonic temple, which I will be using. It’s only 1.5 miles from my house near Camp Long, so I can live with that.

Sorry, comment time is over.
