For months, we’ve seen an ad about a West Seattle restaurant for sale, in business 20 years; it was speculated that the business in question was Angelina’s Trattoria in the Admiral District. However, the ads never included the name — till now; this one turned up on CL this afternoon (hat tip to Lora Lewis from WSB sponsor Hotwire Coffee), and it not only identifies Angelina’s as the restaurant for sale, but also includes a photo. Price: $290,000.
so sorry to hear this. I love Angelinas. the food is always great and the service is too. I would hope whoever buys it will keep it as is, but I doubt it.
Well, if the change is inevitable, I wish for a nice vegetarian restaurant – ala Cafe Flora – to occupy the space. Other conscious omnivores would support it, I think.
I was a regular at Angelina’s for years, but its quality plunged after Papa Mitchelli sold to his daughter. The food was still OK, usually, but the service became absolutely the most abysmal ever. Kept trying once in a while just to see if things had changed. Ate there again a few weeks ago — no luck. Plus, red wine should not be served at room temperature if it’s 90 degrees in the room.
Sorry to see it go, but it’s been terrible for several years now.
OMG. I can not disagree with the Angelina haters more. We go at least once a month and have never had bad service or a bad meal. The owner is sweet and friendly. Hey, it is not perfect, but it is not downtown and does not charge outrageous prices.
We have a soft spot for it ourselves. It was one of the first West Seattle restaurants we tried upon arrival in 1991 – the first place I noticed the prevalence of Caesar salad in Seattle, compared to where we’d lived in previous years (San Diego, Grand Junction, CO, Las Vegas, etc.)
I love angelina’a and visit once a month if not twice. The food is good and the service is great!
I just ate there last Thurs. I had no idea Angelina’s posted a listing or selling. I’d hate to see them close!
