Reminder that if this happens at your home/business/school/etc., report it to SPU at 206-386-1800 (ALWAYS report it if your water is discolored); causes can include a water-line break or nearby fire-hydrant testing.
That is indeed what happened.New methods of flushing have been implemented to not dredge up as much sediment while undergoing inspections and maintenance.This has been done only for reasons of trying not to disrupt sediment in people’s water supply (because the fire department cares about you).If this happens in your neighborhood, I would suggest running your water until it comes out clear.Maybe hold off on doing dishes or laundry until the water runs clear again :).Enjoy the weather and stay safe!
