Mystery power interruption around West Seattle (Monday update)

ORIGINAL SATURDAY REPORT: Thanks for the tips. We’ve received reports of what sounds like a long power flicker – up to a minute, some said – in areas ranging from Admiral to High Point. There’s nothing active in West Seattle – or anywhere else – on the Seattle City Light outage map, so it’s a mystery thus far.

MONDAY UPDATE: We followed up today with City Light. It’s still a mystery – spokesperson Jenn Strang says no reason was found.

There was a loud explosive sound which could be heard on 35th near the southwest corner of Camp Long, then power briefly flickered off and back on.

Had it too over by Roxbury St around 5 o’clock ish or little thereafter.  Hope it’s not a sign of a potential major power outage. Not sure about power grids.

The power went out for about 30 seconds, came back on, flickered off & on, and has stayed on since

The news had mentioned solar flares could cause this.

Power lines were moving around along the right of way down Brandon, so something physical happened. I thought maybe someone hit a power pole but have seen or heard nothing about it.

After the first flicker we heard a loud bang from Genesee hill. It turned on and then flickered two more times with long downtimes.

Our lights flickered on Sat. April 8th and our TV Box restarted.  I thought my husband was doing something in the basement and he said no he was watching a pre-recorded hockey game and he saw the ligjhts flicker as well.  Weird.

Sorry, comment time is over.
