If you’ve seen our recent coverage of Southwest Precinct police at community meetings (here and here) and have questions, another chance to ask them is coming up – SPD reps are on the agenda for tomorrow night’s meeting of HPAC, the neighborhood council for Highland Park, Riverview, and South Delridge. The announcement also promises “a comprehensive presentation and conversation with SDOT Home Zone planners, to help them prioritize the traffic mitigation proposed for” the area. All are welcome at the 7 pm Wednesday online meeting; viewing/participating/calling-in info is on the HPAC website.

Hi Neighbors-Please be aware that the bulk of this meeting will focus on the SDOT planning for Home Zone traffic mitigations for the Highland Park, Riverview, and South Delridge areas. SPD will be joining us briefly to take questions but our focus will be localized issues and we plan to reserve the bulk of our agenda time for the discussion of ways to help us deal with the West Seattle Bridge detour traffic. Come with your questions and observations for SDOT!

With all the cut through traffic, the 4-way stop at Henderson and 9th Ave SW can be harrowing to cross as a pedestrian as cars gun it turning across the large intersection. Simply marking the crosswalks like the other 4-way stops in the area (like Henderson and 16th) would help peds feel safer crossing.

Sorry, comment time is over.
