TRAFFIC/TRANSIT TODAY: Thursday notes; 11th week of West Seattle Bridge closure

6:07 AM: Good morning – the 73rd morning without the high-rise West Seattle Bridge. If you’re headed out – here are the cameras for the 5-way intersection at West Marginal/Delridge/Spokane/Chelan, and the restricted-access low bridge:

The main detour route across the Duwamish River is the 1st Avenue South Bridge (map) – here’s that camera:

The other major bridge across the river is the South Park Bridge (map) – this camera shows the SP-side approach:

Check the @SDOTBridges Twitter feed for info about any of those bridges opening for marine traffic.

You can see all local traffic cams here; locally relevant cameras are also shown on this WSB page.

SDOT is providing an interesting  perspective of the five way intersection. :)

Has the city figured out the Chelan camera is a little droopy?

I hope the people of West Seattle continue to demand our mayor open a limited number of lanes on the high bridge, open the low bridge for cars and send buses around on marginal. Saw another extended bus with ONE rider today. Common sense demands the bridges be used by cars. Not bikes and not buses. People have jobs, kids to move around the city, family in other areas to take care of. Durkan is acting in a very unsafe and risky manner right now. She is putting people in danger by closing WS off from easy access over the river. Her first priority should be our safety and welfare, not her bus and bike agenda.

Sorry, comment time is over.
