UPDATE: Crash on West Seattle Bridge @ Highway 99

2:33 PM: Avoid the bridge for a while – a crash on the eastbound side at Highway 99 is affecting both directions, as shown in the traffic-cam screengrab above. (Thanks for the tips!)

2:51 PM: The westbound side is no longer obstructed but two lanes are blocked on the eastbound side right at the 99 exit.

3:02 PM: All lanes clear. (Thanks to Dan for that tip.) We’re checking with SFD re: injuries.

4:06 PM: No serious injuries, SFD tells us – no one needed to be taken to the hospital.

Just drove by, traffic is moving in both directions again.

      Just updated! Thank you!

One car was in smithereens; do please post any updates on what happened and status of car occupants. Thanks

Yeah I’d like to hear how it happened from anyone who witnessed this accident

It’s nice that you’d like to know if the occupants are “OK” but why the details on how it happened, it won’t change the outcome for either party?

        • T March 5, 2020 (10:37 pm)

It may not change the outcome but for me it’s just about being proactive or learning from mistakes so they hopefully won’t be repeated again. I don’t want anyone I’m related to or not to be injured  or killed because crash information was not followed up on by DOT or by police with enforcement measures. It does appear on the roads these days that it’s a free for all despite asking police and DOT for help.

Don’t know “what happened” but I can tell you SFD says no injuries of note, no one needed to go to a hospital even for eval.

      Crumple zones for the win!

Gosh, I’m glad.  When I was driving by there was a young man who looked very distraught and the police were trying to calm him (from what it looked like).  I was surprised it cleared up so quickly.

That’s also another hint at no major injuries … if it was major, a special-team investigation would likely have ensued.

I believe one of the occupants was a world famous YouTube personality Darksydephil, aka Phillip Burnell. The passenger was his wife, Epona. I think they are both ok but just a little shaken up.

Source? Not seeing anything on that person’s pages but I probably didn’t find them all.

I had to look him up, but he definitely wasn’t who I saw standing outside the wreckage with a blood pressure cuff on his arm and several EMT assessing him when we drove past the scene around 2:30pm. But I don’t know how many were in the vehicle (which was in pretty bad shape, and facing the wrong direction. SO relieved to hear there weren’t serious injuries.) so maybe you have added intel we don’t?

Hideo kojima are you sure you’re not Darksydephil and just trying to get people to look you up on YouTube?

Sorry, comment time is over.
