Seen off West Seattle: USS John C. Stennis, northbound

Sunset sailaway for the aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74) tonight. Thanks to everyone who messaged us to let us know; the photos above and below are from James Tilley.

It’s been about four weeks since the carrier returned from two months of exercises.

    She’s a gorgeous ship.  I’ve always wondered why there’s always 1 Hornet fighter aircraft on the blacktop at all times.The enormity of carriers is never beyond me when they sail through the straight here.  Absolutely behemoth (and fast).
