UPDATE: Seattle Fire response at 34th/Roxbury

5:21 PM: SFD has a “full response” headed to 34th/Roxbury for a possible house fire. More to come.

5:24 PM: This turned out to be an “illegal burn in a back yard.” All but one unit dismissed.

5:38 PM: And that one, Engine 37, was getting ready to leave when we arrived. The captain tells us the resident was trying to dispose of a stump by burning it. Very smoky.

Thanks for this update.  When I saw the smoke start over there, I thought it was just a really smoky grill and went on with my afternoon.  I felt awful when the fire truck pulled up some time later, thinking that I may have mis-judged and not called the fire department when my neighbor’s house was in danger.  Good to hear that was not the case!

OMG! I am so glad this “BBQ gone wild” was not blown out of proportion by overly concerned persons…Thank you SFD for saving the day and dousing down a fire pit. I am thankful you treat every call with this much care. Notice: I BBQ, A LOT! Please don’t call the water boys!

Sorry, comment time is over.
