Congratulations! Madison MS success at Music in the Parks

Congratulations to the nearly 100 musicians of the Madison Middle School Band who are just back from the annual “Music in the Parks” competition in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Parent Loni Syltebo shares the photos and reports on the results:

Jazz Band, 1st Place (Excellent rating)

String Orchestra, 3rd Place (Excellent rating)

Concert Band, 5th Place (Excellent rating)

Jackson Delaney (8th grader) was awarded Outstanding Jazz Soloist of the competition (photo below):

(Thanks also to parent Karen Pfeiffer Bush for sharing early word of the first-place win.)

I am so proud of our young musicians for how well they played on stage, but in particular for how fantastically well behaved, appreciative, and positive they were for the entire weekend. You made your school proud!

Thanks to Mr Batham, Madison Staff and all the parent chaperones that helped made this trip such a success. Our daughter had an amazing experience and we are very thankful for your dedication and hard work!

Congratulations to everyone! To the musicians who practiced hard and performed so well. And to the parents and staff who worked so hard to make this trip a safe and successful one. And especially to Mr. Bathum for being such a great teacher, and to Violet Fong for leading the parent booster group.

    Kids, keep on playin’!

I agree with everything that was said in the above comments. Clark Bathum is a band God and walks on water as far as I am concerned ! Violet is the volunteer extraordinaire and the parents who chaperoned should be pampered for at least a week !
Thank you everyone that made this possible, what a way to cap off my daughter’s last year at Madison.

Sorry, comment time is over.
