High-school football: Chief Sealth over Rainier Beach, 30-20

9:51 PM: Final score’s just in from Southwest Athletic Complex in Westwood – Chief Sealth International High School 30, Rainier Beach HS 20.

11:54 PM: Adding photos and toplines from WSB co-publisher Patrick Sand, who covered the game @ SWAC:

Though Rainier Beach scored first, Sealth put up 24 unanswered points in the second and third quarter, while en route to the win. The turning point in the game came when junior Ja’Lonzo Smallwood recovered a Rainier Beach kickoff-return fumble and ran it in from the three-yard line.

Though Rainier Beach came back late in the game with two more TD’s, they couldn’t close the gap. Next week, Sealth is again home at SWAC, facing Bishop Blanchet at 7 pm Friday (September 27th).

LeeAndre Dickerson was unstoppable!!! Why isn’t there more on his contribution to the win. This kid has really stepped up and showcasing real talent. Dickerson is clearly the go to player when the team is in need of a game breaking play. Wish to see more in the future on this kid.

The fumble that was recovered on 3 yard line was by Justin Alvarez not Jalonzo Smallwood

Does anybody compile game stats afterward? We would be happy to publish the whole list so everybody gets credit here as well as wherever else you publish them. I usually check the Times afterward in case someone sends there, and haven’t seen any. editor@westseattleblog.com if you do – thanks! – Tracy
