Infamously vacant North Delridge property now up for sale

(WSB photo from April 2009)
Almost two and a half years ago, it was the first stop on the “problem properties” tour organized by then-North Delridge Neighborhood Council chair Mike Dady (at left in our 2009 photo, with City Councilmember Tim Burgess) – a long-empty, vandal- and squatter-targeted, often-reported-to-the-city house on a slope facing the northeastern end of Delridge Way. Its address is officially 3804 23rd SW, and this morning, a tipster e-mailed us to point out that it’s just gone up for sale, with its 7,700-square-foot lot, for $100,000; public records say its owner bought it for half that 22 years ago. There’s a note on the listing (see it here with a variety of related details on Redfin, though the listing is credited to ReMAX): “Tear down. Value in land. View with caution.”

About time. It will be nice to have that all cleaned up.

I feel in love with it the first time I saw it…always wondered why it was vacant….if I had the money I’d buy it for myself and my 2 granddaughters….I LOVE Lori’s idea to donate/give to a low income HOMELESS family and allow the community to help clean/fix it up…thinkin a Familie from a DV Shelther would be the best for it…thinkin it’ll take another $500,000 to make the much need repairs…lookin like the roof will need to be removed and redone….and I’m sure the inside will need a major over haul….thinkin $500,000 is a really low estitmate for this house…but I’d still love it…

Hey this place being empty seems to be far less of a problem then other places in the area that are occupid. plus there are other houses in the area with people living in them that look far worse. I guess if someone lived there it would be off the radar.

I’m sure some developer is itching to get their hands on that chunk of land and shove a couple hundred people on it 10 ft wide town homes. It may be dilapitated and an irritation to you progress mongers but RIP the single family home. one more nail in the coffin.

That lot is an awful location for a residential building. It’s so close to the onramp, that it would be difficult to find occupants. Might be best as a commercial building of some sort.

I am going to buy it and let homless people live there.

Sorry, comment time is over.
