West Seattle coyotes: Another High Point sighting

High Point seems to be a coyote hot spot these days. Sara sent news of the latest sighting less than an hour ago:

I was driving down 36th Ave SW (headed north) about 10 min ago and spotted what appeared to be a small coyote (heading south in the middle of the street) at Graham. Just checked the blog and didn’t see any other spottings. It was a tad scary, as 1) it was broad daylight and 2) we walk our dogs in that area frequently. Curious to see if anyone else spotted the lost coyote.

Wondering how to deal with coyotes – both when you see one, and in hopes you won’t? Here’s some advice.

While doing yardwork @ 3:10 this afternoon,
I saw a coyote traveling south on 37th,
it crossed Morgan. and continued south on 37th.
The animal looked healthy and, while moving quickly,
was not in a “flight for life”.
When I yelled “Coyote!”, the animal turned it’s head and acknowledged me as it continued on it’s way.
    Yeah, 3:10 in the afternoon.

Thanks! Good to know, though I do not let my cats roam. Others do and I worry about them. I’d love to hear a good howl!

Evidence to back up claims of Coyotes’ intelligence! Reacting when old timer called out its species!

I left my iphone charger in my car and I’m pretty sure it was stolen by a coyote.

I thought I saw a coyote Friday at about midnight at 34th and Willow. These other sightings sort of confirm my suspicion.

I saw one yesterday at 5:30 PM at 37th and Willow, heading west on Willow. I know most people in the neighborhood had seen them but it was a first for me. We thought he looked spooked after the fireworks for the Seahawks win.

I live on 36th between Roxbury and Cambridge. See them quite often. Day or night…
