First, the followup: The Gatewood resident we all know only as “burglarbustindad” will be on TV sometime tonight; KING5 wanted to get in touch with him after reading his story here – we sent him their e-mail address (we never divulge contact or ID info) and he said in this comment that they were over interviewing him earlier today. (Added early Friday – Here’s the story link.) He also sent us the photo at left – he jokes that Cookie is “fired” as his guard dog – 15 years old, by the way. Meantime, the suspected burglar remains jailed. Now, to two burglaries that to our knowledge have NOT yet been solved – both, like “burglarbustindad,” with stolen items including sizable quantities of coins — read on:
From LR near 63rd and Admiral (map):
Our home was broken into yesterday between 10 am and 5:30 pm. The perps were at
least kind enough to close up our house and not let our always indoor cat out. For that I’m very grateful. I just wish that she (I think it was a young woman) had not taken my laptop with all of the contact information for our 40th class reunion that I’ve been collecting for the committee. She was welcome to the Brownies, and the pack of cigarettes and lighter. But some of the not at all valuable rings, watches, etc had great sentimental value. She also took a few hundred dollars in mostly change but must be planning a trip to Canada with the $30 or so in Canadian currency.
The laptop is a silver Dell.

My home was broken into on September 15th between 10 am and 12:30 pm. The robber took around 600 in change, all silver. A digital camera and a black tool box oh and a gray duffel bag to carry the money in. I live in the 3000 block of 44th ave. (map) Robber broke in through bathroom window and exited through back door, locking it behind him. It took police an hour to arrive and told me it would do no good trying to fingerprint anything.
