YMCA West Seattle pool closed till Tuesday

Just in from Josh Sutton of the West Seattle Family YMCA (WSB sponsor):

We had a glass break over the corner of our pool deck (light fixture), and have closed the pool & Hot Area for a thorough cleaning. At this point, we plan to reopen on Tuesday morning (2/17), as we will take all of Monday to be sure we’ve gotten it safe again. We apologize for the inconvenience.

I am sorry to say that since it is President’s Day, the Southwest Community Center pool is also closed.

We’ll let you know tomorrow if they’re still on track to reopen Tuesday.

Thanks. That saves me a trip down to the Y at 6:30 tomorrow for my morning swim. Hate to get up and out at that hour for nothing.

We already went to go and swim and were caught off guard by the closure. Bummer! At least I know not to until Tuesday!

Must have happened right after we left because we were there from about 1:30pm to 3pm today.

Unfortunately I was planning on attending the first Waterbabies class this morning with my 8 month old and haven’t been contacted about the pool closure! 3 other Mommies I know haven’t heard either! Luckily one got the call, but otherwise there would’ve been some cranky moms and babes on the steps of the Y at 11:00! Maybe they’re planning on calling this morning, but come on… it’s WaterBABIES, we’ve been packing the diaper bag and planning for this for HOURS, a little notice please! =)
