West Seattle Crime Watch: Help find stabbing suspect

wardpic.jpgSeattle Police have just released that photo of the man they’re looking for in connection with the stabbing at the Stewart Manor apartment complex in High Point on October 17th. (Original WSB coverage here.) Here’s the information they sent along with the photo: “On October 17th, 2008 Daniel P. Ward (DOB 2/6/57) and his 42-year-old girlfriend were in her apartment in the 6300 block of 34th Avenue SW. After a brief verbal argument, Ward attacked his girlfriend. Ward stabbed her several times with a box cutter causing severe injuries to her neck, arm, and face. Ward told her that he would kill her and then kill himself. The victim was able to get away from him and seek help. Ward fled the scene and remains at large. The King County Prosecutor’s Office has since charged Ward with Assault 1st degree – Domestic Violence. Anyone with information regarding Ward’s whereabouts is asked to contact 911.”

Wasn’t there something in the crime watch a few months back about a girl who was sexually assaulted by a man with “holes” in his face? Could this be him?

Not supporting a possible criminal here, but you supposedly ” Enlightened ” West Seattlites are showing your true colors. Sorry that this man’s appearance offends. Would an Obama 08 shirt improve the image ?

  • Elisabeth October 29, 2008 (9:05 pm)

Oh c’mon, this is one scarey-looking dude! Wouldn’t you cross the street if you saw him coming toward you? Oh, right, he’s an incipient diamond-in-the-rough taking a box cutter to his girlfriend.

  • Chris October 29, 2008 (9:24 pm)

Lock him up and throw away the key ! but how does his appearance have any bearing on this crime. The focus should be on the victim.

  • Rick October 29, 2008 (9:43 pm)

If he was wearing an “Obama 08” shirt I hope he already mailed his ballot in.

  • toddinwestwood October 29, 2008 (10:12 pm)

ahhh, come on. I was just playing. True, the dude is super sketchy looking , but he is innocent until proven guilty in a court. But judging by the fact he fled, doesnt look good.

He had a girlfriend?? Women of the world rejoice, you all have a chance!!

  • nuni October 30, 2008 (9:54 am)

Sorry to say but seeing as I live RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET from this place, I have probably seen this guy at some point. There are sketchy looking people all over that building. Supposedly the purpose of that building is to house the elderly and young disabled (as I have already had a run in with one of the occupants who threatened to cut my head off if I looked in the direction of the building), but I believe that a lot of people slip through the system and take advantage of this living situation. I wish they would check up on this place more often.

You guys are cruel. This guy is someone’s brother or son. Don’t you have anything better to do then write mean things? I am certainly not condoning what he did, and I am certainly not condoning what my fellow West Seattle neighbors are doing either.

  • Petraa October 30, 2008 (4:08 pm)

I knew this guy and his family years ago. So sad. I often wondered what had become of him, his mom and his sisters. I hope the rest of the family is doing better.

  • wtf October 30, 2008 (9:08 pm)

Now I know what my brothers meant by Tool!

  • dave November 10, 2008 (10:07 pm)

he is my uncle. I have not seen him in years. I wish it wasn’t under these circumstances.

Sorry, comment time is over.
