Thanks to Jerry at JetCityOrange for that photo and word that serious site work has begun at 2775 Harbor Ave (map), less than a week after we brought you word permits had been granted for construction of this building (image courtesy the architecture firm Shugart Bates):

According to the Daily Journal of Commerce, the building is for Western Marine Construction.

Looks like it will be a fun place to skateboard.

    That is a ugly building.

This is a fine example of poor proportion in the high rise and brutal “little murders” across the site at the pedestrian level. It is indeed an ugly building.

Hmm. Thought Seattle was going “green”. Nice to see stucco and steel are part of the “creative green landscape”. God save the queen. Can we NOT do better than that?! Tagged? No kidding, it’s a blank canvas.

Interesting that in the original WSB posting and concurrent links to the DPD permits that an 800 sq. ft. caretakers unit is to be provided in the building. This seems like a very wise move to have a person on site at off hours providing some ‘eyes on the street’ that would otherwise not be present.

WHOA!!!!! Could the architect designed any uglier of a building???? Just think about how many years you have to look at that thing while driving by !!… I’m not for tagging it since that will make it look even UGLIER but….jeez..!! We have set a record here for ugly buildings. I know..why don’t we take those stupid ridiculous “walkng on logs sculptures” (when you come off the freeway) to west seattle and put them in front of this new building!!! It would be a perfect fit. (wince)

Sorry, comment time is over.
