“American Idol” finalist to appear at Roxbury Safeway

chrisrichardson.jpgYou know we don’t do much celebrity or semicelebrity news here, but in case somebody out there’s an “American Idol” fan, as soon as we saw this poster at the Roxbury Safeway, we thought we’d better mention it: One of last year’s finalists, Chris Richardson, will be at the store 3:30-5:30 pm next Wednesday (3/19) — sponsored by an ice-cream company. Doesn’t say if he’ll be scooping, signing, singing, or what. (Footnote, looks like Big Blog had this two days ago and since it didn’t include our magic watchphrase “West Seattle,” we missed it.)

He looks like the head of Mars Hill church, in that picture. My opinion only.

Does anyone over the age of 18 actually buy American Idol crap music?

Is that Safeway “in” or “out” of Seattle? If out, that might be why you didn’t see your watchphrase of “West Seattle.”

The citylimit line is a little squiggly around there so I honestly don’t know, I was just trying to explain how I managed to miss it, which is embarrassing :(

Is that Safeway “in” or “out” of Seattle?

I believe it is literally across the street from Seattle.

who cares!!! he is sooo hot!!

Safeway is in the city limits because Roxy’s casino across from Safeway isn’t allowed to operate in the city limits by law. The county line runs right down Roxbury.

feelsorryfortheowner …so…are you being serious? or facetious? My comment was going to be…”Who?”

WSB, please don’t be embarrassed. You go above and beyond, every single day.

I saw a sign/flyer for his appearance last night at the Admiral Safeway. I was under the impression that he was appearing there (as well?) but I didn’t read it closely so you should get a second source for that.

Thanks, Craig, I’m heading in that direction shortly to catch up with the Fairmount Ravine cleanup volunteers, so I’ll check at Admiral Safeway.

i do believe i heard something on the radio yesterday morning on star 101.5. i don’t really pay attention unless the singers are from our neck of the woods. is he from here? i think he sang a song from my favorite artist jason mraz. now that guy’s hot. that’s a full honest and swooning opinion.

It’s nice to have something for the young people, if someone thinks he is so hot, woo hoo!!

Maybe I’m confused, but aren’t Roxy’s and Safeway on the same (south) side of Roxbury? I found this map from the North Highline Unincorporated Area Council that seems to show that they’re both in the unincorporated area…

Re: Craig’s question above – doublechecked on the website for the ice-cream promotion that’s behind all this. The Roxbury Safeway appearance is his only one in Seattle, period. Would love to know how they chose that particular store.

Sorry, comment time is over.
