Ready for another restaurant on Alki?

On the west end of the Alki restaurant district, the Pegasus Pizza building project (2758 Alki) is no longer alone. Another project has surfaced in the next block: The last little low-rise residence (2810 Alki), sandwiched between Bamboo and the ex-Alki Market, is slated to be replaced by a three-story building described as two floors of restaurant topped by one residential unit. A Design Review Board “early design guidance” meeting for the project is already set for September 13th.

if it’s a good one, i am always ready. i just hope it’s not another mediocre one to add to the string already down there. we could really use a great spot with consistently good food and service! bring it on i say!

These properties are owned and run by the same guy: Pegasus Pizza, Bamboo and Coyotes.
You can probably judge quality of new places with quality of the three mentioned.

I SO miss having a little market down there. Sure it’s cute to have a French restaurant, sushi, pet food store and a surf shop (do we have surfing in Seattle?)…but it sure would be nice to be able to buy milk, eggs and a banana without having to drive up hill 3 miles.

It wouldn’t have to be as BIG as the last iteration of the Alki Market. A full grocery store won’t survive down there. We just need a small convenience store. Please!

It is really pathetic that a dog biscuit store will exist in a place where moderately priced groceries for humans used to exist.

Sorry, comment time is over.
