Big empty lot — but not for much longer?

Every time we walk past 6021 Cali, north of Morgan Junction, we wonder why in the world it’s still just a big empty lot, in these land-rush days, more than a year after it was cleared. City files show a couple different projects proposed for the site, but you have to wonder if any are active, since the parcel’s just been listed for sale for $1.4 million (described in unlinkable search results as “California Avenue Developable Land”).

Who owns the lot across from the Rocksport and why hasn’t it been built into something. Its been empty as loong as I can remember.

So who owns the empty lot across from the Rocksport? Its been empty for as loong as I can remember. Is it part of the seniors building next to it?

This is so incredibly disappointing, I thought that this land was going to be developed into a park. A wasted opportunity.

The lot across from Rocksport is going to be a park — Junction Plaza Park. So is land not very far south from this lot, next to Beveridge Place Pub’s new location (the old Video Vault, Morgan Junction). Was this particular site (California and Raymond) really once targeted to be a park too?

Until I opened the Mapquest link, I thought you WERE talking about the Beveridge-adjacent property..not down on parks, but still don’t get that designation given it’s proximaty to an existing Lincoln Park and now an expanding pub(?). But is the photo of the old house-slash-smoke shop-slash-porn shop land? Perhaps the owners thought if they waited long enough, potential buyers might forget about its colorful past.

    The park is further South.

It would be so nice for someone to buy it and do something interesting for a change!

I love to see someone have a picnic, plant flowers or grow a nice garden there and lay down in front of the bulldozers and excavators when they come to build the condos or the QFC.

Sorry, comment time is over.
