Clearly not practicing for “Drive Nice Day”

One of the ugliest road-rage clashes we’ve seen in a while: At the three-way intersection by Lowman Beach, a huge red pickup and a teal station wagon  were stopped side-by-side, pointed north toward Beach Drive, with the drivers screaming bloody murder at each other. (Mostly the guy in the pickup yelling at the station-wagon guy about being an “old guy” who didn’t know how to drive.) So ugly, we were about to call 911, when the truck roared off. (Oh, and really, tomorrow IS “Drive Nice Day.”)

Unbelievable! We all need to take personal responsability for how we drive!

Thanks for the Drive Nice Day plug. It’s contagious!

Did anyone get the license plate number? Post the incident at http://www.platewire.com. When the offender finally assaults someone, at least there will be a record of prior behavior for the news article :(

Dear Sir: You may be the only courteous driver left in West Seattle. Cooperative merging, a kind wave, going just over the speed limit but not speeding. What a nice change from all the ME FIRST drivers, cellphone to ear, so eager to ensure no one gets ahead of them. Thank you for being a bit of sanity on the road. You made my day!

It beats the passive aggressive wave. That puppy is lethal. Oh and speaking of courteous seattle drivers, the website http://www.seattleuntimely.com had a pretty amusing take on Seattle’s perennial courteous driving awards. The jaywalker part felt particularly familiar.

Sorry, comment time is over.
