Family Promise of Seattle is part of a national network (www.familypromise.org) which helps newly homeless families by providing temporary evening shelter in local congregations of all faiths and a Day Center where a case worker will assist families with all transitional needs.

Starting mid-July, we need two friendly, courteous, part-time van drivers with excellent driving records to drive our guests between host congregations and the day center in West Seattle in the early mornings and late afternoons on a daily basis. Hours, split between two drivers, are approximately 6:00 – 9:00 am and 5:00 – 7:00 pm. $10/hr.

Responsibilities: Operate a 14-passenger van reliably and safely. Morning shift: Pick up van at day center located in West Seattle. Pick up guests at local congregations and drive them to the day center. Open day center and remain until network director arrives. Evening shift: Close day center at 5 pm if director needs to leave earlier and drive guests back to host congregation for the night. Return van to day center. Double trip may be necessary on Sundays when guests move from one location to another. Some flexibility in schedule is required.

Requirements: Must possess a valid Washington state driver’s license, have a minimum 3 years of driving experience, and be at least 21 years old. Driving history and criminal background checks will be conducted by FPS.

To apply, please contact Ellen Hendrick, Network Director, (206) 388-9170, eehendrick@msn.com.
