Southwest Stories: “West Side Story” – The 30th Anniversary of Home-Grown History, Wednesday, July 19, 2017, 6:30 – 7:45pm @ the West Seattle Branch Meeting Room.

The history of West Seattle, the Duwamish Peninsula, and the birthplace of Seattle comes alive in this series of monthly presentations with the Southwest Seattle Historical Society.

Southwest Historical Society Executive Director Clay Eals and Brad Chrisman share the story of conceiving, researching, writing, assembling, publishing, promoting (and updating?) West Seattle’s local history “classic,” West Side Story.

Produced by the West Seattle Herald and White Center News (Robinson Newspapers), with Brad as editorial coordinator, and Clay as editor and project manager, West Side Story still makes for great reading, and has become an invaluable resource for those exploring Seattle history.

Library events and programs are free and everyone is welcome. Registration is not required. West Seattle Branch, 206-684-7444 or Ask a Librarian.

Space is limited at library events. Please come early to make sure you get a seat. Due to the fire code, we can’t exceed the maximum capacity for our rooms.
