Style ’15 Fashion Show Benefit

Thursday, April 30th, 2015 7:00 pm
Showbox SODO | Ages 21 & Over

On April 30th, two dozen breast cancer survivors will show their strength as they model the newest spring trends during Style ’15, Northwest Hope & Healing’s 13th Annual Fashion Show Benefit. The women will be accompanied by male models, men who have a close tie to the cause and have been touched in some way by breast cancer.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Northwest Hope & Healing (NWHH) Patient Assistance Fund in an effort to offer financial assistance to women battling breast cancer in the Puget Sound area. Over the last 15 years, the Northwest Hope & Healing Patient Assistance fund has awarded grants to more than 2,200 women to help them get through breast cancer, and the annual fashion show has raised over $900,000 over the past twelve years, with a 2015 fundraising goal of $150,000. Doors open for the show at 7 pm and will be held at the Showbox SODO, 1700 1st Ave S, Seattle WA 98134.

This moving evening is filled with heartfelt camaraderie and emotional connections between survivors and supporters alike and will include an overview of NWHH’s Healing Programs, three prize drawings, the chance to make donations to fund-a-need (which provides essentials like groceries, gas, childcare or rent), followed by a runway fashion show featuring outfits from some of the hottest boutiques in the Seattle area including: Carmilia’s, Coastal Surf Boutique, West Seattle Runner, Lika Love, Canopy Blue, 3 Wishes, and hair design by stylists from Ola Salon. This event is sponsored and supported by funding from Filament Advisors, Genentech and the Swedish Cancer Institute.

Kristina Dahl, diagnosed in 2005, says “When I was diagnosed with cancer, my daughter was two years old. While I underwent treatment, it took a village of friends and family to keep me afloat, helping with childcare, meals, and so much more. Every woman deserves and needs that kind of support. Fighting cancer was hard enough, a woman going through it shouldn’t have to do it alone.” Shari Sewell, Executive Director of NWHH says “NWHH programs are significant because we step in to pay the rent and to keep food on the table, as women fight for their lives.”

Linda Sabee, proprietor of Carmilia’s in West Seattle has been involved with the event since its inception and will once again return for the 13th consecutive year. Ticket prices range from $50 to $1,000. For more information or to purchase tickets visit: http://www.nwhopeandhealing.org/events.html
