It was like a graveyard …

Only two little groups of trick-or-treaters at our house. One commenter a couple posts down says her neighborhood on the north end of WS (we’re on the south end) got more than a hundred. What happened at your place?

  1. Luna Park was dead. Not dead as in “short zombies carrying shopping bags took all my loot” dead, but dead as in “zero trick-or-treaters and now all this candy is going to give me heart disease” dead.

  2. 8-10 groups at our place (seaview/ws nursery area)…a lot more roaming when we went out with the kids. Maybe our pumpkins were to scary.

Gotta give props to the condo owners who were not getting anyone at their building so they drove around in a truck decked out in halloween decorations handing out candy…that’s the spirit!

  3. From reading other posts sounds like the north end is where it’s at for trick-or-treating. We only had about 6-8 groups at our door (we’re on Gatewood Hill), but I think part of that is because we have a lot of stairs to climb! There seemed to be lots of kids out in the neighborhood.

  4. I think we got about ten visits. We have a lot of kids in the neighborhood, but I think a lot of parents are doing parties instead. We used to get tons more.

  5. We had the usual 15 or so kids total… about 6 groups – we are a bit north of 35th and Fauntleroy.

  6. I hate to sound like a loner, but that’s why I moved into a secured Codominium. I like my privacy a lot. It was quiet as usual. I also think the cold weather may have had a small part in trick-or-treating attendance. What kid wants to trample around in the cold and it was cols last night (ballerina, pirate etc…) Those outfits aren’t to keep you warm. But who knows.

  7. 48 trick or treaters at our door in the Alki area. This is a low for us. It was so windy and cold near the water. Usually, we get around 75. Fun night, though! We did hit the Admiral area trick or treat event. They had a nice turn out!

  9. About 20 on Gatewood, down significantly from last year. We stocked up on candy at Costco this year after almost running out last year (we were nearly forced to turn off the lights and close shop early in ’05). I guess I’ll be fattening my co-workers up on Kit Kats for quite awhile…

  10. Had about 25 kids come to our house in Genessee Hill area (50th and Dakota, not far from Pathfinder). Not a bad turnout, although I think we may have had 40 or so last year or year before. It’s always fun to see the different costumes. No rude or demanding kids last night. All were polite and thankful. Very nice!
