(We’re leaving up the photo of Miep – but removing the general listing as per our policy when cases are closed – because the story of how she got home is so heartening – see the comments!)
Any sightings or updates? Is she an indoor/outdoor cat – does she have a way to get back in if she finds her own way home?
Try putting out her dirty litter so the scent will lead her, also her bedding and “her persons” dirty clothing.
When you search, be calm, call as if you are in the home and call in your lovey voice, she is scared and needs to know she is a good girl and it is okay to make noise or come out. Walk slowly, call out, wait, move, repeat and then go back the same way you came.
Of course, go door to door and let your neighbors know, ask to personally check out buildings and yard – this is YOUR cat, you love her, to your neighbors it is often “just a cat” and they will claim to look but actually don’t. Many cats hunker down and hide.
There are a number of people in the area that can offer a trap. If needed.
Call the shelter daily and go in person to check. Inform all the local vets and shelters. Post to lost pet sites. If she is chipped, inform the chip company that she is missing (they will do a blast posting).

Hi- I found a cat tonight, crying, stuck in a tree in front of my house on Sylvan Way, very close to you. It’s pretty high up and when we tried to get it, it went up higher. I think it might fit the description of coloring/stripes and also looks very petite but again, it’s dark and the kitty is pretty high up.
KM- If the cat is still stuck in the tree please call Canopy Cat Rescue at 1-877- 721-MEOW. If you are unable to call them please call me and leave a good description of where the cat in the tree is so I can call them. (206)719-4864. Thank you.
Thank you, KM and Marianne. KM, I’ve been in touch with your mom and my husband is going up there to see if it’s Miep and do what he can to get her back to earth. She’s really close to our house from a cat perspective – only 2 blocks straight uphill.
Miep has been reunited with family!
She was rescued by Canopy Cat Rescue- if anyone ever has a cat in a tree please call them!!!
Thabk you Marianne for the suggestion!
