DPMemberEugenia lives in a small house
on a quiet street
with a cat that could talk
if it wanted to.
But she comes from a place
where mountains can’t sit still
and even the water doesn’t know
which way to run.
There, men are born whole
from the Mother
nursed on ashes and poetry
and rocked
back and forth
back and forth
back and forth
by History.

Tomorrow, 2 PM, at the downtown Library, West Seattle poet Eugenia Toledo will be reading a selection poems inspired by the Latino-themed worked of documentary photographer Hugo Ludeña.

Also see: https://westseattleblog.com/events for January 15.
Note: If you mention that you heard about Ms. Toledo’s poetry reading on the West Seattle Blog, admission is free.

WSBKeymasterI’m pretty sure it’s free no matter what you say or don’t say. There was no mention of an admission charge in the announcement we put on the calendar a while back, nor is there one on the SPL calendar.

DPMemberWSB, how am I supposed to make a living selling tickets outside the Library if word gets around that the events are free?
Give a struggling editor a break, will ya? Sheesh!
