You might want to contact the local midwifery office, In Tandem Midwifery & see if they have some referrals… their office is in the Junction. 425-243-7848. And GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

She doesn’t live in WS, but she did attend my labor here and she is WONDERFUL: Rebecca Shepherd, Sacred Sprout Doula Services. http://www.thesacredsprout.com/The_Sacred_Sprout_Doula_Services/Home.html

I have not used her doula services but she is a personal friend and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her because she has the perfect talent for this job!

On a similar topic, I’m looking to hire a night doula for a few weeks after our baby is born. Not a birth doula, a postpartum doula who helps care for the baby overnight so the rest of the family can get some sleep. Recommendations would be appreciated. :)

Don’t know much about Laurie as a doula (recommended above by Swap Thing), but she’s a fantastic neighbor and person ;)

Another resource for ideas and referrals (and maybe as a night doula) is Betsy of Betsy’s Baby Services, she posts here infrequently & lives off of Delridge. We took Bradley classes from her & have since referred a lot of people to her for different resources (breastfeeding support etc….).

Ashley Topacio is another great birth doula here in West Seattle: http://www.doulaashley.com/

I’m a postpartum doula myself and happy to talk to you about what a postpartum doula can offer.

Also, you can contact the NAPS, the local postpartum doula association, for referrals: http://www.napsdoulas.org.

    Congrats on your baby!

    :-) Meg
