RSMemberNice job everyone! They have an article/response up about the poll too.

ariettaParticipantHi JoB, I agree that PP is a worthy recipient of our funds, and I would give to them anyway, too, except using my own name. Don’t get me wrong — in principle I think it’s kind of amusing to give to them in this nut-job’s name. But I just don’t trust that it won’t come back to bite us in the a** at some point.
September 24, 2008 at 11:12 pm #640545
GenHillOneParticipantPosted Zenguy – and included the article RS – thanks both, good information to share.

AnonymousInactive“Anybody toting guns and stripping moose don’t care too much about what they do with Jews and blacks.” – Rep Alcee Hastings of Florida
I’m surprised no one has shared this little tidbit to dismiss and degrade Palin.
September 26, 2008 at 8:34 am #640547
JanSParticipantNR…I think you probably could have started a thread with this one. I’m sure it would bring some reactions. It might get lost in these comments. You know where I stand politically…on the opposite side of center from you – lol. What this man said is reprehensible. There simply is no place for it anywhere, but especially not in a speech to constituents. Alcee Hasting has a past, fairly shady at times (a “defrocked” judge)..and while he’s gotten himself elected in Fla, I hope the powers that be come down hard on him for saying that.
September 26, 2008 at 8:18 pm #640548
AnonymousInactiveLol, JanS. You’re right! I should have started a new thread with this.
I have to admit, I did get a little lost in all the negative Palin threads and wasn’t sure where to go with it.
I agree, reprehensible. Not to mention grammatically incorrect and just plain dumb.

TOOTIEMemberhave you checked obama H qualifications NONE
September 28, 2008 at 8:30 pm #640550
JanSParticipantTootie…can you back that up with actual facts? Also…his name is Barack Obama…
September 29, 2008 at 4:57 pm #640551
beachdrivegirlParticipantTootie have you listened to Palin talk? Have you watched her interview? As I have mentioned in another thread I would feel more comfortable with my four year old niece in public speaking and qualifications than Palin.
The best part is, that Biden wont have any work to do on Thursday during the VP debate all he will have to do is shut- up and let her talk…
September 29, 2008 at 5:05 pm #640552
ZenguyParticipantBDG, did you see the interview with Katie Couric? I read it and thought it was bad, but it was like watching a train wreck. I think your assessment is right on…let her implode on her own.
September 29, 2008 at 5:07 pm #640553
beachdrivegirlParticipantZenguy, I did! I was absolutely amazed at how poorly she did. It is an embarrassment to our country!

walfredoMemberhttp://andrewsullivan.theatlantic.com/the_daily_dish/2008/09/the-lies-and-li.html
A good link on the dozens of easily provable factual lies that Palin has said since becoming the VP nominee. None have been explained or retracted at this point in time.
September 29, 2008 at 6:32 pm #640555
JenVMemberCouric: I’m just going to ask you one more time – not to belabor the point. Specific examples in his 26 years of pushing for more regulation.
Palin: I’ll try to find you some and I’ll bring them to you.
September 29, 2008 at 6:51 pm #640556
WSMomParticipantJenV: Your use of proper grammar is showing, she actually said “I’ll try to find ya some and bring em to ya” :)
SNL is right, cornered she becomes increasingly adorable!

Tonya42MemberI am not sure what you mean by when you say anyone can vote mutliple times from same address?
“Your first vote for this poll has been registered. Any subsequent vote will not be counted. This is not a scientific poll.”
Unless there is some sneaky trick you all know about altering polls…..?
September 29, 2008 at 7:32 pm #640558
GenHillOneParticipantTonya – read all of the posts, 22 and 27 specifically.

Tonya42MemberOkay thanks Gen.

flipjackParticipantThis is why Bill Moyers quit PBS and warned that the organization was being taken over by right wingnuts serving on the board of directors.
He was talking about this when I went to see him talk at the Parmount Theater a few years ago.
PBS had a non-partisan aura about it until now. It’s a good front for neo-cons to disseminate propaganda.
October 25, 2008 at 8:57 pm #640561
JoBParticipantflipjack..
it is sad that one of the most reliable sources for unbiased news has bent over so far to be “fair’ to neocons that they are beginning to sound more like the mainstream press and far less like an award winning in depth news source.
still.. i listen to them. i just don’t fund them the way i used to.
a democratic president will do a great deal towards restoring the impartiality of PBS.
