miwsParticipantThe only way that Eynitiativeman could mathematically equal “good”, is in this equation:
Eyman+Moves Out of State=Good

wakefloodParticipantFool leading fools and getting paid handsomely to tell them lies they want to hear.

HMC RichParticipantWithout the tax hikes the Democrats and Inslee want, the state is bringing in 1 Billion more $ in revenue.
Keep the Budget Balanced. Stay away from raising B&O taxes. Fund the schools.
I personally am thinking about starting an initiative that would fine politicians for not getting budgets completed within the normal sessions.
You hit politicians in the pocket book, they listen.
I know many of you hate Eyeman. Fine. But given the opportunity the State would implement an income tax, while keeping sales taxes, raising more property taxes.
Maybe time to really simplify the tax code. Affordable housing is now a thing of the past. And it hasn’t been republicans running this state nor the city of Seattle.

JoBParticipantRich.. the only one you hurt when you hit politicians in the pocketbook is you..
because the first programs they cut to save money are those that benefit actual citizens

wakefloodParticipantThis state alone has a several billion dollar backlog of transportation-related infrastructure problems to catch up on, much less moving forward on matching our growth happening this last 5+yrs. and going forward.
That’s JUST transportation, Rich. Start adding up education, law enforcement, energy infrastructure, etc. and your billion dollars is a pint glass with a splash in the bottom.
Eyman was a HUGE part of gutting our capacity to match our growth and he cares not a WHIT about the welfare of the citizens of this state. He’s merely found a wonderful platform to get handsomely paid to be a wrecking ball of our future.

dobroParticipant“But given the opportunity the State would implement an income tax, while keeping sales taxes, raising more property taxes.”
Always interesting to hear from the mind readers and time travelers who seem to know the future.
“Maybe time to really simplify the tax code.”
What a great suggestion! And who has the ability to do that? (hint: the “State”)

SmittyParticipantThis took me 2 seconds.
If someone has time I’m sure there are plenty more examples or government reneging on a tax promise.

JanSParticipantno talking in this conversation, really, about the content of Eyman’s initiative, and the money behind it? What it will hurt? How it will hamper even more the ability to address this city’s/states shortcomings? Hmmmm
June 6, 2015 at 5:20 pm #824579
waynsterParticipantThe state supreme court has tossed out how many of theses Eyman tax initiatives….Both Party’s would love a state income tax benefits the top wage earners and rich and do think they would drop the sales tax and property taxes… if so I got a bridge to sell you……Eyman needs to move to a new state like Alaska, South Carolina, Texas just to name a few….lmao
